Minor Issues Episode 5

No Caption Provided
Things get totally not crazy, but still fun when we producers are joined by the Number 1 Wiki Points spot holder on Giant Bomb, StarFoxA. We discuss hot topics like Tesla Coils, Fidel Castro, what our friends think about us being hardcore game-players, and as a bonus, there is no talk about the disease that we all apparently are going to get. Let us get radical, if you may, as I make up words!

Don't forget to send in your emails to minorissuesmail@gmail.com.

Editor's Note: This podcast was recorded on Mother's Day weekend and there is also another in the can waiting to be edited. I was hard at work on Final Projects and I am now out of school so things should be running smoothly from now on. Expect the other episode to come out next week! We are also going to have some surprises in the coming weeks and I will hint at said surprises when Episode 6 is out.

Minor Issues Episode 4: Let's Shapeshift!

Keeping true to the fun...

"Bigazz forum dude" Arkthemaniac walks into his podcast debut and hangs with us to talk about Excitebots and a bunch of other stuff! This could be best described as our most casual episode, but we're still awesome! Also, Coltonio has a bunch of moments! Systech ends up sounding like a racist, idiot, murder suspect, and/or all around not funny and makes a promise not to talk about Earthbound for a while. Don't forget our unpredictable Wikipedia page segment, send your emails to MinorIssuesMail@gmail.com and well... to actually listen! We're sorry about the wait, but when we get staffers on our show, we have the right to do that. Steal from your daddy's wallet and spend the money on candy! This is Minor Issues!

Editor's Note: On the next episode, we are going to change things up a bit format-wise because it's getting a little too generic. We already had a few good ideas, but we would love some help and we're asking you to send in those thoughts! Please do so!

What I've played in the past week

Chrono Trigger DS

Since I accumulated a spot in the large group of people that haven't played the acclaimed RPG when it came out, I decided to not be a loser and purchase the recently released DS version from Amazon. I haven't been a fan of most JRPG's for the past few years, but now I know what makes a really good one and what makes Chrono Trigger unique.

I've played through about an hour and a half of the story so far and I am blown away and regret my decision to overlook Chrono Trigger when I had the chance to play it before. The battle system is definitely the highlight of the game at the moment because of its interesting blend of real-time turn-based strategy and I wonder why most RPG's don't take more influence from it.

All in all, Chrono Trigger is a fantastic game. If you were a little too young to get into it like me, you should think about taking a chance on it and you could be pretty surprised.

Team Fortress 2

When I saw Team Fortress 2 on Steam for $10 in honor of the newly released Scout Update, I knew it was a good time to adopt the game after weeks of
Scouts are annoying in numbers

user harassment. I'm not a complete virgin to TF2 because I purchased The Orange Box on the 360, but I then realized that there was more to it than I had originally thought. Of course, Team Fortress 2 is not in a good state to be judged with the teams consisting of about 70-100% Scout players and it has blurred my perception of how balanced TF2 really is. It makes no sense why they should focus on only one class to update every turnaround, because the game is meant to be played with variety and to put it simply, kind of sucks. I'm optimistic for the next couple of weeks when everyone isn't running around with bats in their hands.

Street Fighter IV

Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned

Last Sunday, I completed the final mission of the new storyline following our new favorite biker, Johnny Klebitz. I was surprised about how fleshed out the story was and that the points that were related to events in the base-game were really awesome. There were very little parts that I used a vehicle with more than two wheels and that's because bikers shouldn't drive cars. So, yeah. Lost and Damned is fantastic.

Minor Issues Episode Zero: 15 Minutes of Test

Yesterday, Coltonio7 and I decided "y'know, let's do a podcast!"... and we kind of did. Unfortunately, none of us have the premium recording abilities right now and we're still working on formatting and deciding if we just want to record episodes when we feel like it. We talk about Windows Vista Fail, Afro Samurai, Street Fighter IV and we have a hectic last 45 seconds (make that 15 minutes). I wouldn't expect this to end up being similar to the final product and we were wondering if there were any people that would want to be on it. If you do, let me know and we'll try and work things out when we do this for reals.

NOTES:

  • First part of podcast will be loud.
  • Coltonio was accidentally using the mic from his webcam.
  • We could only record about 15 minutes.
  • There is currently no recording schedule.
  • It hopefully won't be just Coltonio7 and I.
  • I want to figure out how to get on iTunes once this thing starts.
  • We want to know what you want from this.
  • We don't expect a broad listener base.
  • Chocolate milk is awesome.

A Fallout 3 Story: Ghoul's Unfortunate Karma *Plot Spoilers*

Earlier today I was running around the Wasteland just out of Rivet City to get to the Jefferson Memorial (haven't discovered in this character) for my next objective on finding my father. On the road where you can visually see one of the stautes holding a ring, I notice a man with power armor running up the hill appearing to stop at Rivet City. As he moved closer, I could tell that it was actually a ghoul. A ghoul by the name of "Mister Crowley". I had remembered Crowley as the man who gave me the "You Gotta Shoot Them In The Head" quest and he had jetted off to Fort Constantine right after I completed it. I didn't assume that I would be meeting up with him for a second time, though--and unfortunately, his last. Naturally I start a conversation with him. He goes on about how awesome his new Power Armor was. I thought so, too.

I had remembered someone telling me that "once you finished 'You Gotta Shoot Them In The Head,' that you can go over to Fort Constantine and confront Crowley, winning the fantastic prize for yourself." The downside was that I forgot to ask him and the people that I was presumably killing where the Fort exactly was, got lost for a while and gave up. I figured that when I was at a higher level that I would go back and fulfill my mission, but when I finally got there, Mister C was nowhere to be found until now; about 4 levels later.

I decided that now was not the best time to engage in a fight with him so I came to the conclusion to follow him instead. It wasn't very long until we were faced with Talon Company Mercs around the corner near the Metro Station that were attempting to retrieve the reward for my bounty. I engage in a fight with the Mercs and lost about half my health, but somehow I got really into the fight and forgot to keep track of Mister Crowley. I look around the corner and see that he is running away from three Supermutants: two Brutes and one regular. Mister Crowley's fighting logic was asstounding as he ran around in circles getting thumped with a couple of Sledgehammers and shot by a Hunting Rifle. In about 7 seconds, Crowley was dead and the Supermutants couldn't contain themselves. This was a Win-Win-Lose-Lose situation for everyone involved: I got some badass Power Armor and there were Mutants that won't go hungry, but Crowley died for nothing and the Talon Company Mercs still don't have my ass mounted to the wall.

Now if only I can get everyone in Rivet City to jump ship...

A Love Story

Ennis Del Mar: I'm gonna tell you this one time, Rowr fuckin' 14, an' I ain't foolin'. What I don't know - all them things that I don't know - could get you killed if I come to know them. I ain't jokin'.

Rowr: Yeah well try this one, and I'll say it just once!

Ennis Del Mar: Go ahead!

Rowr
: Tell you what, we coulda had a good life together! Fuckin' real good life! Had us a place of our own. But you didn't want it, Ennis! So what we got now is Brokeback Mountain! Everything's built on that! That's all we got, boy, fuckin' all. So I hope you know that, even if you don't never know the rest! You count the damn few times we have been together in nearly twenty years and you measure the short fucking leash you keep me on - and then you ask me about Mexico and tell me you'll kill me for needing somethin' I don't hardly never get. You have no idea how bad it gets! I'm not you... I can't make it on a coupla high-altitude fucks once or twice a year! You are too much for me Ennis, you sonofawhoreson bitch! I wish I knew how to quit you.

Ennis Del Mar: [crying] Well, why don't you? Why don't you just let me be? It's because of you Rowr that I'm like this! I'm nothin'... I'm nowhere... Get the fuck off me! I can't stand being like this no more, Rowr.
