Very important thread.

Sadly, there's an industry out there that feeds off of outrage based off games that failed to meet expectations that are based off E3 demos that like you said aren't gameplay. My only recommendation to those people and for the industry in general is just stop E3. I know it's more for shareholders and stuff, but I think there are better more cost efficient ways to do what E3 accomplishes without the whole hype culture surrounding games. I think corporations are going to get wise to the fact that hype only has a limited shelf life and that E3 might not be the best way to present future games to audiences.

But then again, outrage does put your brand out there too, so I dunno. I'm not a CEO.

I don't like analog swinging and yeah, pretty much agree with everything you said. You can make a good read, but there's too much randomness.

@notnert427: Y'know, I'd prefer not to argue about socio-economics here. I mention Capitalism because it's designed /not/ to give workers power. It's designed to please those at the top. It's hard for me not to mention that when something like this comes up. Is it the only problem effecting the work environment? Hell no, but it is a problem and I don't feel like proving how I got to that conclusion because there are many ways to find that out. I didn't mention a solution to said problem, I'll even admit that I'm not that well educated to give one, socialism or no. I'm not mad at you, but let's not point fingers at each other here if we can help it. I think everyone here can agree that this is a bad situation no matter what. I kinda want to end it there.

Peace.

I'm sure it plays great for a fair few people on console. I didn't like the switch version and thought the controls were weird, that's just me tho. I should've worded my post a bit better, but yeah.

I've played a fair amount of shooters on console, including 2016 Doom, so it's not like I'm saying controllers are the devil, play how you want, but I personally couldn't stand the sensitivity no matter the setting and I know a few other people who started Warframe on a controller on PC who have said the same.

I should've been more subjective and said that I didn't recommend the switch version rather than say it's not great, but w/e.

Now that this was bumped for some reason...don't play the Switch version. The framerate is terrible and the controls on controller are pretty bad, this game requires a PC IMHO. That sounds elitist, but I think a lot of people who are put off Warframe aren't using the mouse and keyboard (I could be wrong, but from my experience that /was/ the case at least in terms of complaining about how it plays).

Capitalism, misogyny, society that loves egomanicial people...I mean, take your pick...These things are problems in every industry and go beyond video games.

1080p 60fps should've been what this console generation targeted all along, so this is great news. Making games work at 4k is okay I guess, I can see it sucking if you invested all that money into it, but a 400 buck machine isn't gonna be that great at outputting at 4k, especially an open world game.

I like the idea of an open world online shooter, but I really would strongly recommend against playing this. There needs to be more character to the world, more sense of awe, or at the very least a good story or progression of some kind. All of that is pretty much non existent. The game is really stuck between a survival game, a loot shooter and an MMO. It does none well.

I don't really listen to the Giant Bombcast, but I looked up their episode about NMS recently and briefly in the beginning they talk about an Oregon Trail game and they mention both The Crew and American Truck Simulator, which I find interesting. So this convo isn't entirely original I guess. :P
