Very important thread.
Sadly, there's an industry out there that feeds off of outrage based off games that failed to meet expectations that are based off E3 demos that like you said aren't gameplay. My only recommendation to those people and for the industry in general is just stop E3. I know it's more for shareholders and stuff, but I think there are better more cost efficient ways to do what E3 accomplishes without the whole hype culture surrounding games. I think corporations are going to get wise to the fact that hype only has a limited shelf life and that E3 might not be the best way to present future games to audiences.
But then again, outrage does put your brand out there too, so I dunno. I'm not a CEO.
