I stopped reading when you used the term "SJW" without a hint of irony. No thank you.

I'm a few hours into the game. It seems fine. The writing and the faces are not top tier, but Mass Effect has never had top tier writing or faces, and I say that as a fan of the series. It's a good series, sometimes even a great one, but it's always had shortcomings.

At worst, it's making me occasionally wrinkle my nose and think, "Well, that was awkward/lazy." Even the Pathfinder stuff is nowhere near as egregious as the internet would have you believe. ("Pathfinder" is a basically a rank, so I have no problem being called Pathfinder all the time. It's like calling John-117 "Master Chief.") So far, it's just another Mass Effect game, albeit one with slightly less charm than the original trilogy.

Basically, the internet loves a train wreck, so it took a handful of relatively minor fuck-ups and blew them way out of proportion.

Is there a way to get a PS4 screenshot onto my PC? Without connecting to Facebook, preferably.

Nope, it arrived today. I've been having fun with the multiplayer, and I'm just starting the campaign. I'm looking forward to it, despite the poor performance and negative hype. I enjoy Mass Effect games, and I'm sure this one will be fine. Will it be great? Bug-free? Probably not. I'm already noticing the weirdness with mouth movement. But I'm on board for now. We'll see how it plays out. It's really the story that will make or break this for me.

If Brad gives it anything other than three stars -- in either direction -- I'll be absolutely shocked.

(For the record, I'm going through with my pre-order. Even if the single-player is lacking, I had a blast with ME3's multiplayer, and this sounds like more of the same. And yes, I do realize that falling back on the multiplayer in a BioWare RPG is a sad statement.)

Ah, that would explain it. Didn't even realize the game had collectibles. Thanks!

I just finished playing Inside on the PS4 (I enjoyed it, obviously) and I didn't get a single trophy. Am I missing something, or are the trophies sometimes bugged? It's a hard problem to google, given the common word used for the game's title, so I thought I'd ask here.

Jeff, I'm genuinely saddened by your loss. I, myself, lost my mother several years ago. It was devastating and, sometimes, it still is. You don't move on, but you learn to live with it. You learn to survive. Just, please, do yourself a favor, and let yourself grieve. Be sad. Be weak. Feel like shit. The mind and body need that emotional release, in times like this. If you need time alone, take it. But, as someone who is very solitary myself, I advise you to take advantage of your loved ones. Be around them. Let them love you.

I'll spare you the bulk of the God talk, since I know you're not a believing man, but I do believe God is with you and your family in your time of grief. You'll be okay, but I'm sure you already know that. You are, in my opinion, one of the finest people in the games industry, and I appreciate you and all you do, despite disagreeing with you, oh, probably 85% of the time. :) God bless, and may 2015 be a year without loss, for you.
