There is a lot of creepy potential when you can just move parts of a face around however you like! Jan replied on twitter saying he would try to rig it in the video set-up. Lets hope it works!
After watching the Ben`s Lens where he and Jan showed of the little animated face connected to the video gear, i wanted to try this myself! I do not have much experience with animation, but here is the result of my efforts:
I think i have organized the layers and folders in the correct way for someone with access to Character Animator to play around with. The individual eyebrows, eyelids, pupils and mouth articulate, and the pupils are supposed to stay within some hidden masks, and not float all over the place. (I have sadly no way to test if this actually works)
While designing the cartoon face i followed this lip-sync diagram, which turns out to be a little different than how Character Animator handles vowels and shapes. I managed to cheese my designs into the templates for use with CA, and I think the result works. The tutorials i followed did not take the jaw into account, so I just made it a part of the mouth, and believe this should work.
This turned into a project in a field i am not that familiar with, but i have learned some fun lessons and hope you guys like it. Any feedback from you duders is much appreciated!
If Jan or anyone in the GB community want to mess around with the .PSD i have made the file public in my Google Drive folder.
I had to import my zojirushi and pay double price, but I still think it is worth it! Should have listened to Will Smith in 2013. Keeps my water cool all day while at work!
