Re-reading this and yeah, pretty sure nobody on the public-facing side of things wrote this thing. It definitely wasn't master wordsmith Rorie, it's just nothing like his style.
I work in corporate comms and this was almost certainly someone off-camera at Red Ventures PR or something and they missed the mark wildly.
I lost my dad to cancer last year in the middle of the pandemic, and was unable to fly back home for the funeral because of it. Thankfully I was able to see him a few months before and we were able to mend some wounds in the relationship and properly say goodbye. "His music" is one of the things that I remember most fondly of him, lots of good childhood memories of jamming to Metallica with him back in the early 90's while he got ready for work in the morning.
So this one sinks in a bit more emotionally for me than most other streams. Alex, you continue to rock. \m/
