They aren't really ports, at least I don't think. Pretty sure it's just PS2 emulation on PS4. And yes, they exclusively use the emulator for reselling games on psn. They could easily do what Microsoft is doing, or even what they did with PS1 on ps3, but choose not to. The hubris of feeling they don't need to be consumer friendly because they are so far ahead of the competition seems like it's coming back. As a fan of PlayStation, it's very unfortunate.

If I like a game and it's completely free, I'll throw a few bucks towards the devs once in awhile just to show my support. The only game I would currently do this with at the moment is gwent, and I already have a complete-ish collection of cards, so no reason to right now.

When it comes to paid games, I'm usually against it. Bought a few crates in overwatch, but only when I had excess psn credit and nothing to really spend it on.

Wouldn't be surprised at all. Bandai Namco seems like the type of company that would push for something like this. Also, dark souls would be a terrible portable game.

I still don't get the power difference between docked vs. undocked. Is there actual horsepower in the dock, or is the handheld just overclocking? If it's the latter, what about the dock makes it safe to overclock? It doesn't seem to have any extra cooling. If anything, being wedged in thick plastic would be a thermal nightmare. Is it just because of battery consumption concerns? From what I understand, the battery isn't that great anyway.

It took creativity to make and is intended to express something (in this case, for comedic value). So yes, of course it is.

You could consider buying it on eBay. You'll probably be able to get a new one at that price for awhile, and you also won't have to pay tax on it (depending on the state you buy from/live in). That's how I bought my original ps4 and have no complaints.

I feel like even if they did, the overall perception of that game and it's development has soured enough to mute any good will it had. Could be entirely wrong, just how things feel to me at the moment.

There's also so many God damn great games this year, that going out of their way to change the rules in favor 1 game seems a little silly.
