@pfhor: As far as I know you have to have escaped the first time and, shortly thereafter, the Administrative Chamber will be made available to you via the Contractors for 2 Diamonds. Sorry for the late reply!

Stubborn Roots really did it for me this run. It almost as if I was allowed to cheese the game a little bit.

Let me just say that I am very excited for the new consoles and I am also puzzled by the lack of enthusiasm or the dismissive approach if only because their reactions last time (well at least on the video above) were generally positive while having a comparable launch lineup. There's no killer app yet but it seems they're excited regardless and ready to dive in.

I will echo the sentiments of some by saying that this generation might be the most iterative to date and the power of the SSDs can be a hard thing to demonstrate and being industry vets, it will get harder and harder to please them by little bells and whistles so they might come off as a little jaded. That is just a consequence of working on the industry long enough to have a clear view of what's genuinely exciting and what's marketing speak. It's one of GB's edge; they trim all the fat and look deep which makes them grounded and I like that.

Return of the Obra Dinn, Intelligent Qube, Pyre, Space Rangers 2, Gorogoa... these are just some of the games I can think of that defies genre either through their gameplay or approach to storytelling.

I am looking personally for something unique and fresh so I want to know: what are your favorite genre-defying games? And please don't let this discussion devolve into defining a certain genre or how a certain game fits into one. Just tell us about a game you think are unique enough to not fit neatly into a given genre.

Microsoft bringing the heat! This was rumored a while back but the murmurs were that Bethesda is too big a company for Microsoft to acquire but it seems they have money to spare and bought not just Bethesda but ZeniMax Media. Such a baller move.

Sony is getting some massive competition and I'm all for it. Let's hope they can strike back with something good in the coming year.

I want to say firsthand that I do not agree with J.K Rowling about her opinion on Trans rights. It is hurtful and harmful.

On the other hand, I caught myself half rationalizing potentially buying this product based on the trailer shown and convincing myself that this is not her direct work and the developers only took inspiration from her books (which I recognize is a MASSIVE stretch). I also caught myself thinking that this product is unrelated to her beliefs so it shouldn't affect my positive impression about the game. I am kinda hoping it would turn out bad so I will not be forced to want it because I do not want her to profit off of this game. But what about the developers who are making this game in good faith? They need to make a living somehow, right? Maybe Warner could pay out J.K Rowling just like Microsoft did with Notch on Minecraft to resolve this issue.

So what do you guys think? Is buying the game equivalent to cosigning the nasty belief of its author? Will you even consider purchasing this product in the future despite of Rowling? What are your thoughts on divorcing the game with its author? If you're an executive at Warner Bros. what would you do? Should there be a dilemma at all? Let me know your thoughts!

It won't sway my purchase but it will be a massive hearts and minds move for Sony. I think people are willing it to be true because of how powerful a statement it will be and I totally agree. But everything from them limiting their scope to PS4 and Jim Ryan's dismissive statements regarding BC in the past suggests it's not happening. Hope springs eternal though so here's to hoping it's there.

I am glad that they are making another one of these. I hope they stick to themes of political intrigue which is what made Suikoden 2 and 5 special.

@frustratedlnc: Jesus, what's your beef with Ron, man? You made the time to comment that you skipped Episode 262 of the Beastcast because he was there. I am fascinated by your weird antagonism towards him.
