I'm 44 and so far I've noticed maybe a slight reduction in reflexes, which I seem to be able to compensate with having a good sense of rhythm, and yeah, my mouse hand doesn't like super extended play sessions but I got a more comfortable mouse for my hand size and the problems have all but disappeared. Same with controllers.

I assume my eyes will eventually degrade, and I'm hoping that the increase in accessibility options will help me there if I find myself unable to enjoy what is going on 39 years of my favourite hobby now. Currently coasting on good genetics but I know I won't outrun the clock forever. Getting old does suck, and I've barely started feeling it.

Honestly at the end of The Last Of Us, I let that last scene go for ages, I didn't feel like I should have had to make the concluding action. Didn't feel true to me.

After Jeff and the others took off, I held off on renewing my sub as I wasn't sure I was going to click / gel with the reorganised crew - Jess was one of the main reasons I was close to renewing. So....fuck this noise.

I was at the Oregon eclipse festival, and as Opiou came on, I was wearing a tshirt that said "Shut the F*ck up and Dance"
and the guy in front of me saw it and was like "That's a seriously unfriendly thing to wear at a global gathering dude" and I just pointed at the stage - one of Opiou's songs has a guy literally yell out "Shut the fuck up and dance!" - it was a band tshirt.
Anyway, I got in front of him and pointed at it as it played and the guy's face lit up with joy and shame. Got a hug out of it :)

In case you missed it, his health problems finally got the best of him.

He was one of the best things about Kotaku and game culture reporting in general.

I grew up starting with 1 and loved 2 USA, and was blown away by 3, but World absolutely captured my heart and imagination. It's a perfect game.

I started watching it the first time and turned it off after 20 minutes because it went straight past unfunny through to painful to watch. After hearing Dan rave about it, I decided to give it another go, and I got through it, but I got nothing from the experience and I did cringe in many places.
Even stoned didn't help. So......fuck that movie. I feel for Kristen Wiig, she's better than this.

There's no way they retain Kotick beyond the deal closing. If anything, Microsoft are, while acting in their own self interest, still doing something that will help clean up the perception of the industry in the face of the fuckwitttery coming out of BK and the whole rotten scaffold the company is sitting on. They won't announce Kotick's departure until it's a dead legal certainty.

Weird, I hear a good mix of positivity mixed with middle-aged cynicism and experience, as well as coping with a new kid after a house move. All of these things I can relate to, it's one of the most relatable 'casts out there for me. I have a 4yo, I'm over 40, I'm tired a lot, I have a much lower bullshit threshold than I had - but even I can still see that there's a lot of excitement and fun still being generated by these folk in the podcast, it just feels a tad easier to relate to.
