Like you, I couldn't get past the clunkiness of the game. I don't think it's me as I've beaten every Souls game but 3 [learned the hard way that DS3 somehow still didn't have cloud saves] and yet I was constantly dying in Mortal Shell when my character simply wasn't doing what I wanted. I can't tell if it's some issue with reading inputs or stitching animations: just testing it in safe spots away from enemies, mashing R1 and R2 I couldn't even consistently get the standard attack sequences to complete. Same with hardening, where I was able to harden mid-attack in maybe 5% of my attempts.

Still can't tell if this is real.

Geez, hadn't thought about this in years. I do love the art style but also worry a bit that it could give me a migraine if I look at it for more than 10 minutes.

I have serious doubts about this being a full, new game. If we can at least get a PC port of Skate 2 or 3, I'll be thrilled and continue playing Skate. for the rest of my days. If it's a mobile game or something to Skate. as Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam was to Pro Skater, I won't be the least bit surprised.

That Eurogamer article mentions it popping up with a Denuvo support page which is...concerning.

So long story short: Not much time to game these days, kids, job, family... I'm looking for something I can mindlessly excel at in the hour or two I get to myself a night.

I wanted to enjoy Div1 but at Launch it just had some things that turned me off and I fell off pretty quick.

Destiny 2 is legit lots of fun to play... but god damn if those guys don't piss me off by charging me ANOTHER 80 bucks to play the game I want to play a year, 2 years later...

Sounds like Div2 is the first time someone has made one of these games the right way out of the gate.

I'm not super into loot grinds, its enjoyable but I don't live for it, I guess I'm wondering if the moment to moment gameplay for Div2 is actually fun enough to compete with Destiny?

You do realize that they're continuing to work on the game and need to make a living, right?

Only in so far as that both games have some form of loot. Warframe plays radically differently from Destiny.

I remember one issue of Game Informer had a preview of this and that I wanted it something fierce. I was way into RPG's back then and the screenshots looked vibrant and fun. Strangely, I can't recall ever seeing a subsequent review of the game there...

It really is bizarre seeing a Blizzard game on another platform. That said, while I never played Diablo, the FAQ under the OP's link states that Warcraft II is incoming and I am fucking there for a resolution-scaling copy of WC2.
