Isn't traveling around the world and EMBEDDING with indie developers Carla(Kara???) Ellison's thing? That's the vibe I'm getting from this, though I don't expect Drew to be the journalist himself considering his field of expertise.
Cara, and she hasn't been doing that for a while. She wrote up her experiences in a book and now she does contract writing for games. She worked on Dishonoured 2.
@tgjessie: Hormones can put stress on your liver, so aggravating that by drinking isn't a great idea. It can also reduce the effectiveness of anti-androgens, or at least the one I'm on (cyproterone acetate). I'll probably end up having a drink or two a few times a year when I get together with friends, but otherwise I'm going to stay clear.
Interestingly, I recently learned that grapefruit juice also can have weird interactions with them too.
I can't drink now that I've started hormones, but when I did I pretty much only drank cider. Pear ones were probably my favourite. Kopparberg elderflower and lime was nice too.
These threads are bad and they always are. If someone says they need to not hire a dude and your response is "they should hire who's best," you're saying that you think someone who isn't a dude can't be best. There are going to be a number of candidates who all fit the bill, and all other things being equal, you should give a POC or someone who isn't a dude a shot.
Also I voted Cara, despite that fact that she now works on games themselves, because she is great.
