Valus the Minotaur (Shadow Of The Colossus) – You didn't bring the most ingenious, challenging or breathtaking scrap. You weren't the biggest, the scariest or even the most striking opponent. You were something brilliant though. A glimpse of things to come, a breath of fresh air and a gentle mentor. Valus, you were our first. Sorry things had to get so stabby.
Vega (Street Fighter 2) – You ate my continues like no other beat em up boss I can remember. Your face was hidden, revealing it was a treat and it's because of your flighty speed that I picked up Chun Li as an alt. 20 Years later she's still my go-to when you're up, pal.
Capra Demon (Dark Souls) – Someone on reddit once inquired about DS boss nicknames. Cookies and Dough and Spiderminge were amusing, but 'Devil in a box' stood right out, taking me back to your undead burg hell. I was a grossly unprepared magic-user, squishy as anything and instantly pinned by those prickish dogs. Death came fast and repeatedly. The eventual victory was frantic and sweaty and marvellous.
