What should I play next? YOU DECIDE!

So I got a bunch of PS3 games that I don't know what to play but then I thought to myself "Hey, Why don't I ask the Super-cool, awesome and douch-free community of GiantBomb what I should play next?"

So here I am, asking you guys as to which game should I play.

Here's the list:

  • Demon's Souls
  • Killzone 3
  • Ico and Shadow of the Colossus collection
  • Darksiders
  • Deus Ex: Human Revolution
  • Yakuza 3
  • Yakuza 4
  • FFXIII
  • God Of War Collection
  • Sly Collection (With Sly 1 and 2 100% Complete)

I have Skyrim too but I'm holding that off as I have a bigger and better TV coming soon and I want to play it in all its glory.

So Duders, What should I play?!

I've turned 19 today...Bleh. (Birthday Blog)

So I saw some birthday blogs and thought, Maybe I should make one too.

Today, my birthday was no where near as memorable as last year. I remember going clubbing with some friends and just having an amazing time and maybe getting a tad bit too tipsy :P

Today I just stayed at home most of the day, played some Demon's Souls and had some family and friends over for dinner, which was fun I guess, but not exciting or hectic or anything.

I just feel very old too and just feel like my I'm slowly going into adulthood and leaving behind all the great things about being a young teenager like nothing major to worry about, listening to music all day and without a care in the world. Now I'm facing more work, plans and study which can be good in a way.

Anyway, that's my fun-tastic birthday blog.

Any other duders that also have their birthday today, I wish you the best birthday possible!

Cheers!

My Top 10 anticipated games!

10. Dead Island-

The game surfaced into the open after years of being kept in the dark with murmurs of a survival game with zombies.

It then came out with probably one of the most emotional trailers I have EVER seen for a game. It then came out with a walkthrough of the game showing the survival mechanics of the games and the different enemy types with co-op play.

Colour me interested. I'm curious to see how this goes and can't wait to get my hands on it.

9. Far Cry 3-

Only recently unveiled at E3, but man when that demo rolled after that slightly disturbing intro from the guy announcing the game, I was impressed.

From Far Cry 2 while being a good game, The characters all spoke like they were being fast-forwarded and had absolutely no emotion whatsoever.

The introduction of "Vaas" In the demo with the epic tagline " Have I ever told you the definition....OfInsanity?"

You can see they are trying to improve the characters in this game with the idea of "An island full of crazies"

This has definitely piqued my interest that the developed are trying to fix the problems in the second Installement.

Lets hope they fix the other things like the infinite respawning enemies... I mean seriously where the hell did they all come from?!!?!?!

8. The Darkness 2-

I Immensely the first one that was developed by Starbreeze. The options you had in that game and some stuff that really wasn't done in any game before made me appreciate what Starbreeze made. You could just sit down and watch the whole movie of " To kill a mockingbird" If you wanted to!

You didn't have to but you had the option to do so which made me appreciate the game.

This time it's being developed by Digital Extreme which makes me cautious but I'm still psyched for another Darkness game! From what I'm hearing and seeing of the game e.g the art style, the amount of executions you can do and the return of the original voice of the darkness makes me hopeful this will have the same amount of craft and charm Starbreeze put in.....Hopefully.

7.Uncharted 3-

The first one came out of nowhere from naughty dog which made a surprisingly good game.

The Second came out of nowhere and just blew off the entire lid to make an amazing, fantastic game.

Can you imagine how the Third one will be?

Although it is only at the number 7 spot because to me it looks the same as Uncharted 2 In terms of gameplay and graphics which makes me really wonder "Can they really go to as much as to the next level as they did with from Uncharted 1 to Uncharted 2...?"

Although I LOVE the Helen Mirren lookalike villain with the Jason Stantham lookalike henchmen.

We will see this November but I am still quite psyched to play this game!

6.Saints Row: The Third

Compared to GTA: IV which was more focused on a mature story line (Which I appreciate and why its one of my favourite games) The Saints Row Franchise always focused on one principle ( To have as much crazy fun as you can possibly have)

The amount ofCRAZYcustomization options you can have is just bewildering and awesome.

For the sheer crazy, weird and limitless possibilities I am quite looking forward to this game!

5. Mass Effect 3-

After the amazing game that was Mass Effect 2, I'm ready to have some more Mass Effect and I'm glad they delayed it to polish it more and personally so I don't have a strain on my wallet this year....

The characters have always been a central part to the Mass Effect games and I cannot wait to see some old faces again!

However it begs the question how much more streamlined or complex they made the game.

Mass Effect 2 albeit a VERY good game, obviously was streamlined to cater for anyone new to the series and who were casual gamers.

They still have that ideal that the game should be available to wider audiences, casual or core gamers.

Nevertheless Bioware always delivers on their Mass Effect games and I'm ready for some more!

4. Batman: Arkham City

The first one was a sleeper hit and was critically acclaimed by many.

Rocksteady Games are pulling out ALLthe stops on this one making it a more open world game, with more villains, weapons and gadgets that are making me SUPER excited for this game.

They are promising an amazing single player experience and I don't doubt them. After the surprising hit game that was Arkham Asylum, this definitely deserves to be in the top 5.

3. The Last Guardian-

This game has been known for AGES and people are desperately wanting to know more about the game and more importantly when it's going to come out.

Team Ico have made some pretty amazing and ground-breaking titles like Shadow Of The Colossus anc Ico.

This game with the premise of an lovable monster helping out a young boy just screams "amazing" all over and Team Ico to this point have never failed in touching our hearts making this a VERY anticipated game for me.

2. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Promised to have over 300+ Hours of content with new improvements that are too many to even mention, this is undoubtedly one of THE most anticipated games to look forward to.

After being sucked into Oblivion and having an absolute blast with it, It shouldn't be explained to much as to why this game is so anticipated.

1. Bioshock Infinite-

And I gladly give my number 1 spot to Bioshock Infinite.

Ken Levine and Irrational games have put SO much passion and detail into this game that it is unreal.

The great american experiment, the city in the sky, An equivalent to a moving Statue Of Liberty to show off to the rest of the world.... It's extraordinary.

The implementation of the Sky Lines, The look and aesthetic of the city which has never been done before in any game just astounds me which makes this MY number 1 anticipated game!

Now obviously this will change as time goes on as things are announced or opinions will change.

What are your guys anticipated games?

The balance between video games and life. How to balance the two?

I consider myself a huge gamer. From an early age of four, I remember playing my first game ever which is Super Mario World. As time went on, I engrossed myself in the world of video games and got myself a PS1 and then a PS2 and now a PS3 and 360.

I always found that gaming is a splendid hobby in my life.

However from the last year and a half I find myself slowly but gradually not having the time to play the games. Not because I don't want or I'm bored from them. FAR from it.

I just don't have the time any more.

I've been devoting my time to study for exams and going out with my friends And when my exams did finish, where I promised myself I would game more, I find myself going out with friends a lot more, going to the gym and now I'm trying to find a job for the summer. I just don't have the time to play games any more. When I come home at night is the only time I find time to play but sometimes I don't feel like it or there isn't enough time because I'm sleepy.

I've even gone through a period of not gaming for a whole month and a half because I was too busy.

But I don't want to stop gaming. I want to continue gaming and experience things no other mediums can do.

Are any of you guys in the same situation as I am?

My Portal 2 Review!

So I justI recently finished Portal 2, Single player and some Co-Op. I wanted to just give my two cents on the game

Story- When you compare this games to its predecessor In terms of story, you can see that Valve TOTALLY upped their game in this department.

From a simple, short and amazing add on for The Orange Box, Its sequal has been made into a full retail game and rightfully so. Glados is back with the addition of Wheatly who is Stephen Merchant (Who is absolutely hilarious) And J.K Simmons as the past owner of Aperture Science. They all act as the voice that accompany you as you progress through the game and the new addition of characters fit perfectly well throughout the game.

It has twists and turns that will garuntee to shock many.

Gameplay- As with the previous games you have a portal gun, one that Shoots Blue Portals and one that shoots Orange ones. They are both connected that enable you to transport one location to another. The puzzles that are included in this game are GENIUS. Although at the beginning you will find to be ploughing through puzzles quite easily. In my experience , the REAL hard puzzles start around chapter 6 but towards that chapter the puzzles are quite enjoyable and will Build you up for the later puzzles.

Once you finish one puzzle, you will be compelled to solve another...And Another... And another till you find yourself at the end of the game.

Graphics- A lot more polished since the first 1 and really pleasing to look at. But when you're playing a Portal game, you're not looking at the graphics although still very nice looking.

Music- Simply amazing. For the atmosphere of the game, It truly complements it. The techno vibe throughout is just a joy to hear.

I haven't even BEGUN to mention the multiplayer component. Granted I only completed to core chambers, It's just genius how with the addition of another portal gun, the types of puzzles they came up with.

Overall- The game is fantastic, with a compelling story, some truly mind bending puzzles, great music and a fantastic co-op mode this game truly is one hell of a ride.

The only problem is once you completed the puzzle, that's it. You know it and in that sense its a one trick pony but knowing valve There WILL be some free content coming in for portal 2 players that keep me holding on to my copy and patiently waiting for some awesome new content.

Portal 2- 9/10

Now I wonder if they are making a Portal 3?... We all know how much Valve have a difficulty of developing games with a "3" at the end of it...

So my Backlog of games...There's a lot. (First Blog)

So I have A LOT of games to go through.

Some games I bought because I was really excited for it.
Some are there because a friend recommended it to me.
Some are there because it was on a bargain price.

And some are there because....Hell, just because they are.

Now with all these games I am determined to complete them (After my exams which end on June 24th) No matter how bad or good they are. So let me firstly just show you my list......

And that's JUST the list for 360. Now, your probably thinking  "Hey dude, great job for buying those games and all. But I think you're forgetting the sole reason for them....TO PLAY THEM!!"

I agree I should of just not bought them :/ I just been so busy these past years in exams with my A-Levels, that I hadn't had the time to play ALL of my games. But from June 24th I'll be having a lot more free time and hopefully make a dent in this....And that's where you guys come in.

I want you guys to vote for the game that I should complete next when the all-mighty date comes. You will be choosing the games I play. Afterwards I shall do a review on that game with my thoughts of it too. This way this will give me the motivation to finish these games and give my two cents on it.

Now I will give you the other lists as well and you can vote from them too.

  • Resistance 1
  • Resistance 2

Hopefully this was a decent blog for a first time and enjoyable for you all to read and as interactive as I can make it :)

While you vote, tell me if you guys have any backlogs yourselves and how you tackle through them.

Cheers for reading!
