@zombiepie: That's a very pessimistic view, I think. Especially when the last two chapters are good.

@cjduke: Yeah, so far as the game side goes, overall I think the feel, abilities, etc are better. But my memory of 2016 is that at some point that game became kind of like a ballet, in the sense that it just flowed and I felt like I was in total control. Here, and I think I may have said this to you before, but a lot of time I kinda felt like I was flailing, having fun, but spiraling between just barely in control and just out of control.

That, and a couple things like the Marauder specifically that I actively disliked, to the point where when he'd show up I'd just sigh, and end up losing a couple lives (which didn't matter since I usually had about fifteen) because I didn't care enough to dodge every one of his attacks.

Overall, though, definitely a fun game. Still might try playing it again on a harder difficulty (assuming I can turn the difficulty up in level select so I can pseudo-new game + it) once I'm through all these other games.

@cjduke: As I am someone who often enjoys games that have some issues, let's say, but have really compelling stories and such, I'm not surprised I liked it, but I wasn't exactly expecting it to hit me the way it did, or to get me feeling all introspective.

@hassun: I was going to get LiS 2 whilst it was on sale but then someone I know said Episode 2 was so bad she wasn't even going to finish the rest of it, so I put it back on the back burner to wait for a steeper sale. I'm too fickle, I know.

@humanity: I played Dragon's Dogma back in 2013! Yes, a year after initial release, but I was playing Dark Arisen a long while ago, relatively speaking. It was just years of Austin talking about it that got it all up in my brain, and me to buy the "remastered" version last year.

@humanity: It really just baffles me that people have the time and energy to go to such lengths just to dunk on stuff. Like, I'm not going to complain that someone read my blog (if you're reading this comment, thank you for giving me your time!), but also... You know.

@turboman: No, did they do the soul lie thing TWICE? This is getting into Rose is an AI territory.

@humanity: I think the run is also supposed to be a joke. Like, try to make you think you finished the game, but then they pull the rug out from you because the game has like another five hours of stuff to do. Also it felt like some Baywatch level of goofy beach running.
