i mean again, it certainly wasn't made ironically and there's an entire non-ironic community for the game. i don't imagine many games make it to EVO events due to irony. i can understand not liking the aesthetic cuz it's pretty polarizing but everyone just thinking it's a meme game and nothing else is really shitting on how hard the dev worked and is continuing to work on the game
that and having a trans character that isn't mean spirited in a fighting game is pretty neat
I guess I’m just getting tired of all the crying wolf about racism, sexism, homophobia, cultural appropriation, etc. There are real world-affecting issues around some of these topics, but I can’t blame anyone finding it hard to take them seriously when everywhere you turn there’s someone else screaming fire when maybe there’s only embers.
Game looks like shit and the jokes were bad and tasteless. I’m not sure why it needs to be more than that. Save your outrage for the real shit.

bingo. the only real 'outrage' i'm seeing is people being upset that other folk are calling out shitty jokes for what they are. it's not like anyone's boycotting this trash-ass game or anything because it'll fade into obscurity after a couple of weeks
