I'd like to apologize for using the word "retarded" to describe something on the cast. I've been trying to remove that word from my vocabulary but it still comes up from time to time. Sorry about that!
Great podcast. Always appreciate it when you show up anywhere on Giant Bomb. The enthusiasm is infectious.
Definitely appreciate the apology regarding "retarded". I remember feeling like it was kind of a distracting thing to hear in the middle of an otherwise interesting conversation about trash talking. As a middle aged guy I've had multiple words I've been trying to excise from my conversational vocabulary (my most prevalent current struggle is getting rid of the word "gypped") so I can appreciate making that kind of slip up.
Anyways the trash talking bit was really interesting. When I was younger I definitely engaged in a certain amount of the playful teasing version of trash talk when playing Dark Age of Camelot and WoW or Battlefield. It was fun and no one complained but in retrospect it was completely unnecessary and I'll probably never know if it ever pushed things over into the area of diminishing fun for someone else especially if they maybe had a bad day and just needed to relax.
Outside of Endless Legend I don't know if I can play this style of game anymore. Certainly Endless Legend freshened things up so much that Beyond Earth felt really stale in comparison.

That's a great episode and I can't believe I never made the connection that it was Austin on that episode until you pointed it out. Sometimes I just gloss over who the guest is when the topic is interesting enough lol.
Really hope they keep up this feature because it's great. I will say that from here on out they need to carefully pick which games to do especially if they feel like they only have it in them to do 1 or 2 more games in the series. I have fond memories of Bloodlines but if it comes down to it I'd rather see Rondo of Blood than Bloodlines.
Also I desperately hope they play Symphony of the Night. That game is a masterpiece of both gameplay and art design. Also the way the save/checkpoints work in that game mean the crew will have a great deal of control over the timing and pace of that series and should lend itself to good commentary.
I'd love to see the guys play a Warhammer tabletop game but I'm afraid that the cost for buying the miniatures might exhaust the GBEast budget for the next few years.
I played a bit of this last night and had a pretty good time getting to level 5. I'm not sure how long the legs on this thing will be but it's a good time for now.
