10 Favorite Super Heroes

Favorite heroes of comics from every genre and publisher

  • I know this is basic as fuck, but Batman is so badass. With a nickname called "The Dark Knight", you know asses are going to get kicked. I love the gothic element to him and how Gotham's police force works with him because they know the city wouldn't function without him. He has was one of the coolest rogue galleries in comics, featuring the most iconic/complex villain of all time: The Joker. Plus have you seen Robert Pattinson's take on Batman? Talk about a dream casting that you never knew you wanted.

  • Born in the 1800s and fighting in almost every war since then, Logan is without a doubt, the most popular X-Man. His dark mysterious past, his feud with Sabretooth, his complicated relationship with his teammates, rivalry with Hulk, and the fact that he has been brought to life so successfully on-screen have all made him deserve a high spot on this list. Of course, being a badass with cool metal claws and healing abilities doesn't hurt either.

  • Rorschach's violent tendencies, noir detective/anti-hero vibe, interesting psychological profile, black-and-white worldview is for some reason just so appealing to me. He is incredibly well-written, and his perspective on current events during Watchmen is very transparent. Even though he is portrayed as a hero, he pulls off the disturbing calm of a sociopathic killer. He has many human faults and his life up until he becomes a vigilante is far more realistic than most origin story portrayals. Rorschach has to be one of the most realistic comic book characters of all time. Plus who could forget this quote when he was in prison?

"None of you seem to understand, I'm not locked in here with you; you're locked in here with me!"

  • He's a skeleton biker that's on fire with godlike powers. His presence even scared THE HULK. Enough said

  • I can't speak for everyone else, but Red Hood/Jason Todd is personally my favorite out of the Bat-Family. Jason is the black sheep in the family who is willing to do what he feels is necessary to bring justice to those who deserve it. The kid rose from the dead and came back with a bang. He does what Batman cannot, and in my opinion, is Batman's real successor. Although he does not say it, he is always looking out for the people close to him and would sacrifice himself for any of them in a heartbeat. He also put up an excellent fight against Batman.

  • A war veteran and the United States Marine Corps Scout Sniper in Force Recon, Frank Castle has one of the most tragic of origins. Driven by the deaths of his wife and two children, who were killed by the mob for witnessing a murder in New York City's Central Park, the Punisher wages a one-man war on crime brutally. He is basically Marvel's Grim Reaper because once you see that skull on his chest, shits gonna happen.

  • Aside from being weirdly attractive, Raven has to be one of my favorite DC characters because of her refusal and will to not become like her demonic father Trigon. Her supernatural goth aesthetic is what makes her so unique.

  • Yes, I know that Venom started off as a villain, but over the years he has become an alternative to Spider-Man. He and Spidey even occasionally team up to defeat common foes like Carnage. Also, Venom's Symbiote race isn't naturally evil; they just need a host to bond with in order to survive. This has resulted in some awesome transformations such as the original Eddie Brock, Ghost Rider, Flash Thompson/Agent Venom (My favorite), and most recently a T-Rex. At the end of the day, it really depends who's host Venom bonds with.

  • Wielding lunar powers and a severe multiple personality disorder, Moon Knight is probably the most bat-shit crazy superhero ever introduced to comics; which is why I love him. Unlike most heroes who try to wear dark colors for stealth, Moon Knight wears white so that his enemies see him coming. Talk about badass.

  • Often misunderstood, or dismissed as the dark one, Raphael is known to go to the extremes with his anger, which makes him the most complex ninja turtle.
