Great addictive fun 0

This is the first Disney Infinity game I purchased, and I bought it with hesitation. I really thought this would be a game for kids only, and I would get bored with it real fast. Let me tell you, I couldn't be more wrong. The gameplay itself is pretty simple, similar to a Lego style game, but that doesn't mean it has to be easy. Sure, if you keep the difficulty on the default setting, it can be pretty easy; but crank it up and this is not an easy game. I played the marvel playset on hard and had...

Upgraded NES Version 0

For those of you that enjoyed Punch-Out on the NES or Mike Tyson's Punch-Out on the NES, you need to play this game.  Punch-Out on the Wii took everything that worked from the past games (which is everything) and slapped on better graphics and a longer career mode.  Each fighter still has their own pattern that you need to figure out in order to beat them which is a nice change of pace compared to Fight Night games.  As you progress through your career and win all the titles, you then go back an...

Why settle when you can Reach 0

There is something about the Halo franchise that gets me excited.  I like the characters, the story, and environments and the weapons.  I have played the Halo series since Combat Evolved and was very exicted when I heard Reach was coming out.  Now that I have finished the campaign I feel like I can give a full, fair review.  The Story - I will not reveal any of the story to prevent any spoiling but I will say that the story in Reach got me more involved emotionally then any other Halo game.  I ...

Best football game of its time 0

Yes thats right, 5 stars.  You can argue and you can say my review is not helpful but lets be honest, Tecmo Bowl was the football game to have in the late 80's/early 90's.  Tecmo Bowl didn't feature any great play modes or anything but you were able to take an NFL team (limited teams selection) and compete against your friends or the computer in a very fun side view football game.  The graphics were not terrible for their time, the sound was average, and the controls were ok but the heart of the...

Do you like realistic football? 0

The big question this year for football fans is, do you like realistic football?  If you say yes, then Madden 11 is for you.  Madden 11 is a lot like previous versions of Madden but the tweaks that were made were done to create a more realistic experience.    Gone are the days of 300+ plays to choose from before a play starts, now with the gameplan option you choose the plays that work for you and the game will automatically choose this for you.  At first glance this may seem like a dumbed down ...

Simply Put, it works 0

EA Sports Active is a great training tool for people of all ages.  The game itself doesn't look all that great but its a training game so graphics don't matter as much ac content.  Along with the huge variety of exercises, there is also a journal where you can keep track of how healthy you are living based on food, sleep, water, and other activities.    I am 28 and work out with lifting weights on a daily basis.  I thought i would give this a shot for extra cardio and i have to admit, I sweat ev...

Fun side-scroller but its short lived 0

Life Force is a game that uses a lot of old school concepts.  Its basically a traditional side scroller with power ups along the way to increase your space ships powers.     As with all Konami games from the NES era, you have the option to use the "Konami code" to get 30 lifes.  If you do this code, chances are you will finish the game in less then 3 hours.  If you try and do it with the original number of lives (3), you will probably increase your time by about double.    If you like old side s...

This game is great 0

I am a long standing Splinter Cell fan.  I love the idea of being a "bad ass" that has tons of gadgets to play with.  Sam Fisher always has an arsenal of fun gadgets and weapons that help you quietly go around killing people.  Conviction is similar to this style but with a small twist.  In past Splinter Cell games you had to worry about hiding bodies and staying quiet.  Conviction takes this to a different game play type and allows you to kill almost anyone and not worry about who finds out.  Al...

Not worth it 0

The Madden Franchise has really outdone itself and made itself the best football game available.  The problem is, this doesn't translate to the DS very well.  The graphics are terrible, the sounds is terrible and the controls are terrible.  You do have a lot of options like you have in the other versions of the game but what EA needs to do is "dumb-it-down" for the handheld.  They try hard to do a straight conversion from the Xbox 360 to the DS is seems like.  Madden 09 is just to complex for a ...

Blast from the Past 0

Do you remember the many hours put into the original Tecmo Bowl?  Do you enjoy throwing 80 yard passes?  Do you like the game of football without the complexity of the Madden franchise?  If you answered yes to all those questions then this is the game for you!    Tecmo Bowl Kickoff is a great addition to the Tecmo Bowl family.  The game plays just like it did in the early 90's and it actually looks cleaner.  The game itself is played just like Tecmo Super Bowl in the fact that you have 11 player...

Great Photo Sim 0

I will start by saying this game is not for everyone.  Very similar in a way of Endless Ocean or other niche games.  Having said that, if you are looking for a relaxing photography simulator, Afrika is perfect for you.  The entire game is you being a photographer Afrika and selling images to companies advertisements or magazines.  With this money you can upgrade supplies, which include better cameras, tents, or even more memory.  The pace of the game is very slow.  You start off in one area that...

Strange.....but keeps you interested 0

Seaman is one game you will never forget.  It came with a microphone (which back then was very rare) and was never really your standard video game on the Dreamcast.  Of course i thought i better buy it so i did. The basics of the game is you start an aquarium with several tadpole looking creatures.  Over time 1 becomes dominate and you are left with just one.  You must feed this creature (which you do name) and also pay attention to it.  Over time it grows legs and needs to breath air.  It ends ...

Tyson is back...kinda 0

Some of my best childhood moments were those playing Mike Tyson's Punch Out on the NES.  Till this day that is one of the best boxing games i have ever played.  So when i heard this game was coming out i bought it before reading anything about it.  Well, i should have read a few reviews first.   The boxing mechanics are ok at best.  The controls are not very responsive and the graphics are low grade for the Xbox.  You do get a build your fighter as you go but the game lacks any fun.  Take a semi...

shouldn't be a game 0

Really, this "game" is no more then an adult version of a quiz game.  All you do is guess what one of the girls is going to answer and depending on how fast you answer and if its right you get points.  The more points you get the more you get to "see" of the girls.  For the most part the girls are not attractive and it seems like they visited a couple Spring Break locations and tried to get girls to flash for the camera.  If this were just a quiz game with no girls in it i would have given it a ...

Not perfect but getting there 0

The first Endless Ocean was a fun game if you played it knowing it wasn't your typical game.  It was more of a "Learn About  Fish" game then an actual game.  Blue World though adds more to the gameplay side of things that will make fans of the first game want to play the sequel.  The addition of danger, running out of air, and using a pulsar gun are just a few things that make this game more interesting and entertaining.  Being a huge fan of everything that is ocean (i own a saltwater retail sho...

If you like fishing, you will like this game 0

Bass Pro Shops The Strike may be onto something with this game, but they don't quite get it 100% yet.  The controller is by far the best fishing controller i have ever used but they game play can get pretty repetitive.  The graphics are also something that is lacking a bit on a next-gen console.  When you win tournaments you earn money which can be used to upgrade your equipment.  These upgrades actually seem to work very well.  There is also a nice feature that you can choose to view underwater...

Like the ones before it but better 0

MX vs ATV Reflex is a lot like the MX vs ATV games before it.  You get to choose from multiple vehicles including dirt bikes, atv's, buggies, trucks, etc.  The new terrain deformation adds a whole new complexity and realism to the game and also makes races a bit more intense towards the final laps when there is nothing but ruts and holes everywhere.  Plain and simple, the game is fun.  Great graphics, great sound, decent controls and tons of modes that will keep you playing for hours.  If you en...

If you like the first one, you like the second one 0

Scene it? Box Office Smash! is the second in the series of Scene it games for the Xbox 360.  Box Office Smash! delivers a few new trivia games and introduces avitars. The Avitars are really no big addition but it's pretty cool to see your avitar sitting on a couch in between rounds.  One of the additions is the ability to play with up to 4 plays over Xbox live.  This is very nice as the first game limited you to 4 players locally.  Box Office Smash! still allows you to play with up to 4 players ...

Nice try.... 0

As you would have guessed, this game takes the Olympic Games and translates them into B.C. era.  There are a handful of games that you choose from and you take on either the computer or you can go multiplayer.  As you go through a series of events it keeps track of your wins and losses and just like the Olympics, the person with the most medals wins.   I guess the thought of having a cavemen version of the Olympics is pretty funny, and actually some parts of the game are pretty funny, but the ...

Dr. Mario is just what the doctor ordered 0

If you are into puzzle games Dr. Mario may be the prescription you need. The core mechanics are similar to those of tetris in that you have to guide falling objects, in this case pills, and align them by color to kill the viruses. The pills come one at a time in many different color combinations and must be placed on top, bottom or either sides of the virus to kill it. Since the pills come in different colors you have to align the right colored pills to the corresponding colored viruses. It mus...
