Most Important Games in my History
This list is not in order of importance, but in a semi-chronological order (at least the first part), in order of when I played the game.

First game that was mine (well, shared within family, but still...). We never owned an NES, but we got an SNES the fall it debuted. At the time I liked it because it was Mario on a new system. With 20/20 hindsight, I can appreciate it a little more, but it's definitely not my favorite game that we owned. That would go to either of the next 2 games.
My family got this for Christmas right after getting the SNES. The sense of speed was amazing for the time. Still have fond memories of this game.
My favorite game for many years, and still preferred over Mario Kart 64 - not sure what it is, but I just don't like the N64 version as much as the SNES one. Maybe it's the amount of time I've put into the SNES one, plus the younger age I was when I started playing. The SNES one is still fun to this day.
Never played this on my own computer, but definitely got me hooked on the FPS genre. The "realism" of viewing the game from the character's point of view - it just seemed genius at the time.
Looked better than Wolfenstein, more weapons, more blood - what more could a 14-year-old boy want?
The reason to buy an N64 at launch. There were several half days of school that my friends and I would congregate at someone's house and play this until dinner time. Those were some fun times. Obviously, the best Bond game out there - sure, it was the first (at least in a long time), but it set the bar very high. Also was the first good FPS on a console.
Amazing. My favorite N64 game, by far. Better than GoldenEye in every way. Not sure why it's not remembered as fondly or memorably as GoldenEye. The addition of multiplayer bots was a godsend - I spent hours memorizing the maps while playing alone, massacring sims.
First game I really remember for its humor. Borrowed this from a friend, did the FULL installation, and LOVED it.
The Game of the Year version of UT was the first PC game I ever bought for my own computer, and got me started on the road as a PC gamer (not quite fanboy, but preferred platform). Fast-paced, fun weapons, great maps, and since this was the first PC I owned, and had a decent 3D card for the time (ATi Rage 128 Pro), the graphics were a huge leap forward to me.
This was an alright racing game, but what got me were the graphics. I still remember playing this with my roommate, and we had it set to software rendering. I switched it to the hardware rendering mode, and my eyes popped out! The difference was AMAZING.
First PC game I received as a gift. Wasn't really interested before I got it, but impressed with the gameplay. I liked the different pace - slow, deliberate, calculated. LOVED setting up ambushes, coordinated attacks on groups of enemies... lots of fun. Got both expansion packs for this game.
The start of the WWII shooter craze (at least to me), and I still have the fondest memories of this game. The storming of Normandy level is still a lot of fun - often repeated, but never as good.
Never finished the first game, but LOVE this game. I didn't pick it up until a year after release, but I knew about it's protracted development - I would say "troubled", but the end product is anything but.
