@yabbering_yeti: Yes! I feel the same way and I was trying to pinpoint what it was because I couldn’t articulate it. I think the frame rate of the game is high, but the frame rate of the sprites is lower. So the object that draws your attention triggers that nostalgia while the game around it still feels modern. It’s a really neat trick.
Even watching this, I can’t shake the though in the back of my head saying “this game tried to kill a person.” So many controls at a bunch of different companies have to fail for this to happen. Only in 2020.
This sort of looks fun to play, but from this video, it sounds like everything surrounding the gameplay is painful. I'll pick it up when the price drops.
