I haven't been able to finish Ascension and GoW 3 was painfully dull compared to the first two games. But this game is incredibly compelling even without the GoW name as I love the new Tomb Raider games and the Norse mythos attached to this. It couldn't be more exciting to see them not make another chain sword gymnastics movie.

Those rose tinted glasses will fall off during the first 4-5 hours of fetch quests and dying to rats and desert tomatoes. But... unlike FFX/X-2, this game gets better the more time you spend with it.

Final Fantasy 4, any version besides the mobile phone version, is the best introduction to the series.

Normally I would disagree with OP, but after watching the Nintendo one I have to agree some. It was a fun reveal, and I kept thinking "lighten the fuck up guys."

Despite not being able to beat either of the first two Witcher games, I'll buy a ps4 for the game.

Hearthstone is one of those games where I pick it up and play it until I lose. Same with Dota 2, where once I start losing I'd better stop unless I want a losing streak to bung things up. I'm the same way with gambling. Lose once, quit and pout... Then return to a meaningless existence, spent hating the internet/life a little bit more.

Makes sense, it's all good. Though the Vinny/Jeff and Vinny/Brad dynamics will be hugely missed.

I'd say the industry is changing and the shift towards some BIG games and tons of "indie" games has been really, really obvious in it's approach. Giant Bomb's coverage isn't necessarily changing, the games are changing and the site is keeping up with the industry AND the now well-established YouTube games coverage nightmare scene.

I'm personally just as 'sardonic' when it comes to games as Jeff is, so naturally I don't have an issue with his coverage, attitude or opinions. All I think 99% of people seeking videogame coverage want is an honest and informed opinion and Jeff is one of the best for that. One thing I might suggest, and I apologize for the arbitrary psychoanalysis, is that the sudden death of Ryan is probably still depressing the staff. Loss takes time to deal with, so if Jeff or anyone else seems extra 'acerbic' or whatever give it time. I'd be bummed too, for a long time.

Plus, hey the site is pretty impressive considering the small number of people doing it... and OP isn't paying for the Premium stuff which has continued to be fan-fucking-tastic.
