2020 is almost over and I think the only 2020 release I played was the C&C remaster.

Can't say I have any interest whatsoever in Power Rangers or Internet Culture, but Albummer is an interesting premise for a show that I really hope won't just end up being people shitting on a thing that's already considered bad, but maybe exploring how it was misunderstood at the time or something. There are plenty of albums throughout history that were critically panned at the time of release, but have gone on to be considered classics.

Surprised to hear it wasn't in there already, thought people had been doing F1 championships in there for years, have they been doing that without wet races all this time?

Mentioned in the comments, but I'll just bring up Silpheed again on the Sega CD. It was truly amazing when I played it at the time in '93. It made you feel like you were in giant space battles like nothing I had played before, not even Sol-Feace/Deace!

Just check out this stage (and its monster groove).

This would've been my first choice as well. My second choice would probably be Bioware's debut mech sim Shattered Steel, in my opinion still the best game they've ever made, with some incredible destructible environments for the time.

Eh, I think the reason nothing newer than 2018 is on there is because you need perspective in order to really tell how good something is. There's recency bias to be aware of, but also a lot of other aspects that are hard to judge in the moment, but with 5 or so years of perspective are easier to see in their proper context.

In general I think that list seems to have a very American bias to it, and I absolutely don't think Destiny has any place on it, and probably not DOTA 2 either (a case could be made for the original perhaps, which brings up another issue with a list like this, because sometimes what makes a game great isn't what the original developers put in there, but what the modding community made with it as a toolset).

Anyway, for the most part, these wouldn't have been the picks I would've made, but I can see the argument for many of them.

I also spent around 5 hours with it, liked it a lot but then never went back to it.

I've definitely had localized ads on Waypoint Radio for a couple of years now, the Bombcast doesn't though.

I've only played two 2021 releases so far, Imagine Earth (a bit of a Off-World Trading Company meets Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri-lite, real time planetary colonization and company management game with a half-implemented environmental simulation going on) and Eastern Exorcist (a Chinese sidescrolling soulslike with a pretty good 2.5D/2D-on-3D-backgrounds aesthetic going on), enjoying both, though both are pretty flawed, but I'm probably leaning towards Imagine Earth being my favorite of the two.
