Haven't had anyone die on me, but Lydia, at one point, vanished while traveling, keeping me from using any other companions.

Usually fast travel spawns her at your side, but that didn't work, and I had actually been exploring the world and crafting for about 4 hours, so I didn't know she was gone, and didn't want to roll back to before that point.

So I spent 2 more hours looking for her, but then decided to use the console and spawn her manually, and that actually worked (though she had lost that full set flawless dwarven armour I had made for her).

Now today, after about 10 more hours, I return to my house in Whiterun, with Lydia in tow. I put some loot in my chest, turn around, and fuck me if there isn't a Lydia sitting in a chair, next to "the other" Lydia I've been with for a while now.

For those of you who play every game that gets release, this might be a good thing. People like me who don't have time to play all, or just not the interest, it's quite a bit of a letdown when Alpha Protocol was on the top 5 most anticipated games of 2009. That said, if the delay is to give the game more polish, I'm all for it.

If you're getting hit by Kilik across the screen you need to learn not to get hit by him across the screen. If he misses with his long range attacks he leaves himself open to easy counters. So keep a distance and see what move the player favours, and adapt accordingly. A majority of the Kilik players just know a few attacks, which are super easy to counter and evade.

Though I see your frustration. Unskilled Kilik players are just boring to fight, but if you're up one who knows how to use the character, then he's one of the most entertaining characters to fight.

The game that got me into PC gaming was Police Quest: In Pursuit of the Death Angel,  for the IBM/PC compatible by Sierra On-Line. I remember seeing it running on a friend's machine in the glorious EGA graphics setting back in 1987, and that was the moment this 7 year old was hooked.

I somehow managed to convince my parents to get me a computer, but unfortunately it was a Commodore 64 which didn't have those kinds of games. We did get a IBM/PC compatible machine for the family a few months later, though.

Good times.
