I love it every time you bring up Thumper. An amazing game that feels like it's from another dimension. I thought I was pretty good but my son burned past every one of my high scores and is in the top 100 or something, makes me proud. :)
@jibbajabbawocky: Yeah it doesn't seem like it would work well to have someone go in blind in Alien: Isolation and only play for an hour or so. The first 2-4 hours are just tense build up, where you expect scares all the time but nothing really happens for a while. The game loves to take its time with everything, and it's pretty effective for the first part of the game.
Hiding in lockers reminds me of the time I thought it would be fun to play the hidden VR mode in Alien Isolation. I couldn’t handle even 5 minutes of that.
Isn't the art style more like Happy Harmonies from Harman and Ising? I remember the old Boomerang cable channel used to run those once in a while, and some of the content was really amazing, such as extreme racism, promoting smoking, etc.
I'm sure this has been answered before but what software does Vinny use to do the spooky voice change effects? I really want to freak my friends out with some random spooky voices.
P.S. I really hope Alien Isolation is in the list of games to play. By far the scariest game I've ever played.
@mendelson9: Hmm, I don't use the web player, I just download from the RSS feed. I double-checked and downloaded it again from the link on this page, but it's the same 720p/4mbps file. I'm sure it's some simple fix in their workflow and they will upload a new "a" revision of the file, but everyone should just take this as a test of whether you are good at seeing the difference between 720 and 1080. ;)
P.S. I can't compare with the YouTube version yet as it hasn't been posted, but I'd never watch GB content on YouTube anyway!
(Edit) I see a note that you have to watch the YouTube version if you want 1080p. Come on guys, you really should have updated the website to handle this before doing this video!
Zen is so much fun, it's crazy. The sound when you charge up several orbs and one-shot Pharah mid-flight, or kick McCree to death as he comes around the corner with a high noon. So good!! And Alex: try voice in competitive mode, it's worth it. Calling out targets for your team to focus on a discorded enemy takes things to a whole new level. Everyone just melts in seconds, and your team will love you for it.
Jeff Kaplan said they have something like 4 maps in development, with at least 1 coming "soon".
I mean we got 12 maps and 21 heroes at launch, that's a ton of content. I also can't even imagine the amount of work it takes to develop one of these large maps, taking all 22 heroes into account. I get more impressed with the current maps all the time once I learn the nuances of different heroes. Get into learning some Lucio wall-riding or Genji/Hanzo wall-climbing for example, and you'll see maps in completely different ways. Just one example: it's possible to wall-ride as Lucio along the entire outer wall on the Ilios Lighthouse map. From one spawn to the other. Not very useful in a real game, but stuff like this blew my mind the first time I saw it.
