I'm currently getting my BotW exploration fix from Genshin, so this isn't doing a lot for me. On top of that, the tone and humor seems pretty generic and boring.
This also coming out after Hades puts it in a bad place in terms of characterization, too. The interpretation of Greek mythology in Hades is so damn cool that anything coming directly afterwards is sure to look & feel uninspired, but this seems particularly bland.
Hearing that some of the folks that worked on DMC5's combat are working on FFXVI makes me pretty damn excited for it. Give me more of that perfection, please.
As someone who never played a musou, Hyrule Warriors back in 2014 was an awesome surprise to me. I think those types of games get a bad rap because people play them for a few hours and don't get into the harder challenges where the games become more demanding strategically. It becomes less about just mashing X and occasionally pressing Y and more about optimizing clearing speed and movement so you can maintain control of the map, because if it gets away on you it goes real bad real fast.
Also, the recent Dragon Warrior and Fire Emblem warrior games have been great, with Persona 5 Scramble being a pretty big departure from standard musou combat. I like the direction Musou is going in general, with it simply being a formula to use on existing franchises, and changing the games significantly to mold them into that franchises style.
Crazy for Nintendo to just drop what will end up being one of my most anticipated games of the year on a random Tuesday.
I think I just stepped into a time machine to my childhood. I was just playing FFVII (remake) and now I'm apparently listening to the Hotspot. What the fuck is happening
