I agree in that the video came off as a bit dry and hard to argue about either way. That's probably the point though, considering the reaction to her Kickstarter. I don't blame her for sticking to the basics for now. We haven't even been able to agree on "Yes, this is problem.", so logically the first part of the series isn't too controversial yet.

The research and production values are significant, though, and I'm looking forward to upcoming videos already.

And if this kind of stuff has been "said already and by more reasonable people", then please show me where. I'm genuinely interested.

@patrickklepek : I'm curious about the link to the Hexels tumblr without any further comment. Have you been contacted by the developers at all or is this just a cool thing you saw? I feels a bit... out of place, I guess.

Yes, clearly Deep Silver's intent is to legitimize and promote sexual violence and any other brutal acts toward women, and is totally banking on the fact that people who play video games love cut up female bodies.

I'm at a loss for words that she is able to equate these two things onto the same level, and totally gets away with it. She spends some 3/4ths of her paragraph discussing this terrible real life event, and then somehow connects something completely irrelevant to it. It's almost insulting to the victim of the actual tragedy. I'm surprised more people haven't pointed this part of the article out.

I know you were being sarcastic. At the same time, that statement isn't too far off. The people who conceived of the statue certainly didn't want there to be more sexual violence. They did however assume that their target audience finds the thought of combining sex and mutilation to be entertaining enough to be the basis of this Special Edition. As part of their target audience (male gamer), I find that pretty disgusting.

Well, for me Patrick was a must-have for Chaotic Evil. Alex and Dave probably fit in their spots the least, but then I really only wanted to represent a certain facet of what each of the guys is known for on the site. Like, Jeff likes to catalog games, Vinny likes to mess with games during a QL, etc. And there are only so many spots. xD
