I do. Because I'm a person of color and it's important to me that there's an outlet with a queer person from a marginalized background setting the editorial direction. But humor me, what makes Waypoint an echo chamber and how is it any different from any other gaming podcast where people agree with each other?

I gotta say that seeing Waypoint, the only major video game site to my knowledge headed by someone who isn't a straight white dude, being referred to as an "echo chamber" is rich.

I voted for Banjo, but I specifically mean a sequel to Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts aka Rare's Best Game.

@applegong: Canada has no Chinese tarrifs in place. This shouldn’t affect anything here, at least not significantly. If it does, then it’s collusive price gouging by computer retailers which should be investigated.

@soulcake: If the moderators can’t deal with a forum issue midday on a weekday in North America, then the site needs better moderation.

And please don’t lecture me about how to feel about the forums. I’ve been here since the start and I can tell you that distinction between “political” and “gaming” thread only further indicates that I’m not welcome here. It seems the only stuff considered non-political are viewpoints coming from a very specific perspective.

@frostyryan: I flagged it hours ago and it’s still up. Just goes to show how, as a person of color, I do not feel safe posting in these forums much anymore. The lax moderation of hateful and racist speech is ridiculous.

I’m half expecting a Fortnite on Switch announcement, which also means Switch-Xbox cross play. But PS4-Xbox cross play? No way.

@jesus_phish: Not to mention that Overwatch is just an iteration on Team Fortress 2, but that conveniently isn’t mentioned in this argument.

Disclaimer: I love Overwatch, and I also love TF2.

Anybody complaining about this better not be an Android user. I distinctly remember Google and their hardware partners ripping off the iPhone within months of its landmark release, at a cheaper price to boot. Imitation and iteration are givens in the tech industry. Complaining about it, especially when no one is actually losing out because of the imitation, is just petty and childish.

@nals: I rarely comment anymore on the GB forums because of its reactionary tendency to silence cultural critique of games, but I just wanted to say I really appreciated your comment. You do good works nals.
