I didn't say it was only the economy, just that the economy was increasing the likeliness of fanboyism, I heard that when people buy consoles sometime fanboyism happens because they are subconsciously defending their perchase and mentally refusing to admit they made a wrong choice, and the whole "So I just spent x amount of money on the wrong thing", this would be worse in our current economy due to the raising cost of things and people having less money, therefore having a more cautious mind and maybe a stubborn mind as well. To sum up what I just said, I believe that people refusing to admit they made a mistake can help increase their tendency to become a fanboy, but that's not the only way, as you say, some people can just be idiots, nonetheless, thanks for listening and giving a response, I promise the next one will be better and even more well thought out.
