I played in the early online tests and enjoyed the actual gameplay quite a bit, but that fucking awful card system is a guaranteed way to make me never want to play your game again. It is pretty much the antithesis of competitive. All of the supposed problems it "solves" could be done significantly better without it. It's obviously just there because cards are hot right now and people are trying to force them into everything, regardless of whether they make sense.
My favourite part was Brad in one breath saying he never played League and in the next saying anyone who disagreed with his opinion on it were not worth engaging with. The Internet™ ladies and gentlemen.

I hate to be that guy Brad, but at the 2:14 mark you do say "I don't play League, so I can't say for sure."
"I don't play League" isn't the same as "I've never played League" because it is in the present tense. All it says is that he does not currently play League. Things may have changed since the last time he played. So, he left some wiggle room. Similarly, I don't play Hearthstone... because I didn't like it.
Wait, there's progression elements wherein a hero you play for the first time will not be nearly as good as your main even if they were perfectly balanced? Wow. I forget how shit other MOBAs are sometimes, I heard League had a similar thing in like Runes or something. Glad Blizzard didn't go down that road, it's a shit road to go down.
HotS already has something similar. You don't have all of your skill upgrades unlocked until you reach a certain character level, IIRC. Also, you can't use the heroes in HotS at all unless they are in the free rotation or you've bought them with whatever they call the points in HotS.
Dota 2 is the only Lords Management game I know of with monetization that doesn't have an effect on the actual gameplay... and, thus, the only one I can tolerate.
