Top 5 Anticipated of 2011

2011 looks to be a great year, and these are the five games that I'm stoked the most for.

List items

  • Rockstar games has created some memorable game experiences. Grand Theft Auto IV, Bully, and Red Dead Redemption are some of my favorite games of the past decade, and L.A. Noire looks to be no exception. I know Rockstar knows how to create a memorable experience with this one, and that amazing facial recognition technology can only make the game more believable.

  • Uncharted 2 was my favorite game of 2009. It's cinematic sequences, really fun story, charismatic and relate-able characters, and much tighter shooting made it a great game. Even just from the teaser alone, I can't wait to see how Nathan Drake, Elena Fisher and Sully get out of their inevitable predicament this time.

  • Specifically the PlayStation 3 version. I was always super anxious to play it on the Xbox 360, but I wasn't going to unless I finished the first game, which I started but never finished because the gameplay wasn't very good. With the PS3 version, I'll have the first game choices and story, the second game's combat and all of the DLC. Perfect.

  • LittleBigPlanet was a great game. While I don't have the creativity to create an interesting level or the level of skill and patience to make one that's fun to play, I loved seeing what people did with the tools available to them. LittleBigPlanet 2 appears to take that concept to the next level. Fighting, racing, useless tech-demos, all stemming from a platforming game. Impressive.

  • I've never played a Fight Night game before, but what I'm really excited for is the story. Having an M-rating will allow EA Canada to do whatever they want to with the story, and really show the gritty path that some boxers follow to make it big. Boxing is sadly a dying sport, and if this game is really good and the story is captivating, it could bring attention to the sport again.
