Nextlander does it. Almost every other popular podcast I listen to does it. It's tedious to scroll through a 2-3 hour long podcast to find the thing you want to listen to.
The pacing is inconsistent. The conflict between characters feels forced (and a bit hard to believe at times such as Freya resisting her urge to murder Kratos). I thought I would binge this game and have it done within a few days. I'm 12 hours in and haven't touched it in days.
It feels like a sequel that exists out of business necessity rather than resolving a story. I get that GoW is a huge money maker for Sony, but I wish they would have wrapped it all up in the previous game and then done something new afterward.
I've tried to get into it twice--once with the original release and again with Director's Cut. I got about 4-5 hours in each time and then lost interest. It honestly feels like the opposite of a Kojima game. Boring story. Tedious gameplay. Boring characters. Uninspired soundtrack. The only thing I do enjoy is the visual aesthetic, but overcast skies and green hills can't save this game.
I recently renewed my premium and was feeling a bit skeptical about GB once I heard Jeff was leaving, but seeing that they're bringing back Dan and adding Lucy and Tamoor has 100% restored my faith in GB's future.
I bailed after watching one episode and reading that they had no intention to follow the games or books. Also, what the fuck, don't take off his helmet in the first episode!
