Change is weird and difficult. GB was like going to your closest friends place to hang, make inside jokes, and play your favorite games. It was super cozy, but insular.

It’s kinda that still, but there are a lot of new faces (for some of us). I think you could compare this “era” of GB to other transitionary periods, but on a much larger scale. It’s gunna be a lot of experimentation and hit-and-miss for some. That’s okay.

I’ll never stop appreciating what GB duders past and present have done to entertain and make a space for those of us who are like minded. For a few years, GB was almost all the content I watched aside from YouTube channels from time to time. Now, I mostly just listen to the Bombcast. Part of that is due to my personal life changing.

Whatever comes down the pike, I think it’s important to remember that feeling one way or the other is okay. People come and go. If you’re headed out, just make sure you leave the place better than you found it.

So many drama queens on the GB forums. It can be fun to speculate, but keep in mind they are human beings.

That said, reality is almost always the most boring/mundane outcome. I think those who create the most drama here can attest to that.

Nextlanders dudes wanted something different and literally could not do it where they are. It’s hard to imagine GB duders have animosity towards the folks who helped bring GB to where it is.

Which brings me to my next point, those talking about “betrayal” and “using their former employer’s notoriety” to build a new community are talking out their butts.

First off, those who left literally BUILT this very site. To demonize them as if they are poaching off someone else’s hard work is flat out wrong. What you’re seeing is a trust keeping hold in their working relationship with the audience.

To that end, everyone here didn’t come to www.giantbomb.com because “www.giantbomb.com”. We came here because the crew fostered a community for us to gather. GB will push on with the amazing staff they have now and Nextlanders will now begin building something that reflects their vision. We all win, especially the audience.

This is great news. Totally stoked to be a part of their new platform!

I don’t understand the point of speculating all this?

1. Even if your guess is correct it literally has no impact on anything.

2. Literally time will tell. You don’t even have to wait that long. Jeff said like a month for them to “change the tires”. He even made sure folks got a sub extension.

We know GB will be different, obviously. Some will like it and some won’t. How is this thread anything but masturbatory?

Cannot overstate what this site has meant to me since I joined the community in 2013. Just want to say thank you to Vinny, Brad, and Alex for all they have brought over the years.

How anyone could say the story is bad is just - what? Do people not understand character development? Do people expect characters to remain static as new events unfold around them?

It is not perfect, but relative to the industry, the story is the best in show. The argument over the “political” parts I could give a shit less about. I really don’t care to listen to a chud struggle with the concept of genders and sexuality outside of straight, white males. Fucking cry about it.

That said, I understand the gameplay or how they achieve their storytelling goals (the player agency argument) just not being for you.

It is undeniable that Naughty Dog puts out games that are at the cutting edge of technology, so even if the game is not your cup of tea (which is okay!) I would still recommend a play through to avid video game players because this game will inform how game development is approached in the future.

@skryerx: I had issues the other day with the premiums podcasts on my iPhone (Podcast app).

It was asking for my credentials, but it wouldn’t take them. Performed a password reset as a sanity check and still didn’t work.

At that point, I thought maybe removing them from my library and readding may resolve my issue. However, once I removed them - I couldn’t find the premium version on the Podcast app.

I submitted a ticket to GB support and they said “Sorry, we don’t support third-party apps. Try the forums.”

So, I made a post the other day and haven’t got a response yet. I’m here now because I was going to check to see if anyone had a suggestion and I found this thread before.

Still not sure what the cause is, but having support more or less hand-wave me to the forums where I didn’t get any response is really deflating.

Hello all,

This morning, I went to download the new Bombcast premium, but was prompted for my user/pass. However, after several login attempts and password resets I was still unable to successfully login.

With that, I thought maybe removing then re-adding the podcast may help. So I did and now I can’t seem to find the premium version on the Apple Podcast search.

Is anyone else having a similar issue? How can I re-add the premium version to my podcasts app if I cannot find it in the search?
