I found RE 2 to be an oddly relaxing experience, but DMC V is the best “Character Action” game I’ve ever played. It straight rules. I’m Absolutely shocked by how much fun I’ve had with it.
Just like Red Dead Redemtion 2, on paper, Sekiro is my dream game, but I just wasn’t having fun at all. Paid $40 for it, and I already traded it in for $33. No regrets.
@asmo917: I took a break from composing my long winded thoughts on this topic, and then I saw that Danny O’Dwyer threw is thoughts in the fire. He addresses this topic better then anyone else I’ve heard.
I hope you don’t take this as a lazy cop out, but I deleted my response because Danny explains it better then anyone’s else, including me.
Dark Souls, and Bloodborne, are two of my all time favorite games, and it was hard for me to admit just how stressful Sekiro is for me. The lack of fun I was having compared to previous FromSoftware titles was rather surprising. The game is not for me, but I don’t think it should have a difficulty setting, or options to make it more accessible. It’s a game not everyone can enjoy, or complete, and that is fine.
The Witness is the same way. There are puzzles at the end I couldn’t complete, due to my inability to process strobing lights and patterns. I ended up asking a family member for help, so I wouldn’t have a seizure. Blow said himself that he didn’t want to add accessibility options to the game, because his goal was not to make a game for everyone to enjoy. He admitted that people with certain handicaps can’t complete certain sections, and he’s more then fine with that, and so am I.
I love MLB The Show, (I still like 17 to be honest) and absolutely think it should have a wide array of accessibility options.
I’m playing Okami (PS4) for the first time, and it’s been a blissful experience. Breath of the Wild, and A Link to The Past are tied for my #1, and I’m still enjoying Okami more then most Zelda titles.
DMC is an absolute joy. Sekiro should totally be my thing, but it just flat out asks me to achieve feats that I don’t think I can physically pull off. The game is brilliant, but I’m completely fine dropping it.
