This article says that they're planning to release it in early 2017, pre-orders are up now on the Chinese Vive website for 1,499 RMB or $220 USD.
What do you guys think? They have a video in the article demonstrating it, but I think it's too short and the monitor's not close enough to be able to tell if there's latency or not. I still haven't decided whether $220 is steep or not either.
On PC, I run a 1366x768 monitor and have a TV hooked up for movies/shows/anything else I wanna show on there that's not games. While I'd like a nicer monitor in general, I don't feel a real need for 1080p, and the closest thing I'll be getting to a monitor anytime soon is a Vive.
That being said, if a console game doesn't do 1080 60, it's very noticeable, and very disappointing.
hackmud is a really cool game but there is definitely a barrier between those that know javascript and those that don't. That being said, players have written:
-A newspaper -An email client -Multiple chat clients -A Facebook clone -An ingame manual -An alternate currency that is just starting up, get in on presale while you can -A place to put people's IP equivalents if they hack you
Again, the game is amazing, but there's no way you can have a lot of fun with it without knowing javascript.
