I read this either every Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning, schedule pending. It's an absolute must for this site in my opinion, and I'm very appreciative that you do it!
I admit I wasn't very confident in this game, but it was fun to watch. The only downside is it feels flash in the pan to me. That's not meant to be a negative to the developers, but I'm hoping they have something planned to take advantage of the attention they are getting, otherwise going free to be viral may have cost them more money than they could have made otherwise. We'll see, but this GB crew is one of the few that I can imagine watching and laughing at the antics with.
Didn't Nintendo previously state they instituted a policy to block any new enemy types in some of their games? And now they create a Sophie's choice question of stick with old characters or get new characters? Maybe at some point we need to recognize that luck is a larger part of the Big N's success than we previously thought.
@sheerdarkheart: @bigevil1987: I don't know the specifics exactly, but it turns out that within the last week they had to do some updating for the RSS feeds and some of the podcast systems, which they did, but then right as Jan left for his trip a new change was made that requires an additional update that they are working on now (but not having Jan here sounds like it's either blocking the fix or slowing it down). I would check the forums for more details as I think I saw T. Shawn and Zombie Pie talking about it to others in there.
I love that GI still is print and think I may subscribe as I have not only missed the old excitement of getting a mag in the mail and spending a week reading it cover to cover. In fact, I've been going back through things I have in storage in a digital form via RetroMags (PS - Grubb, don't know if you read site comments, but I wonder if the RetroMags guys would be worth having as guests or doing an interview?).
Is it also possible that the new Sony hardware is going to be cheaper for them to produce, as an additional factor to the ones you guys mentioned for why Sony might be making a new SKU that otherwise doesn't seem to have a high demand?
And of course, seconds later, Grubb mentions what I was thinking. Patience? What's that!?
Sweeney is a con. He bemoans walled gardens but the first thing he did with Epic was try to build walled gardens that benefited him. He may be right from time to time about specific things, but he's not the hero we deserve, he's the fraud we should ignore.
