My Top 10 Games

This is not a list of the top 10 greatest games ever made. This is in fact, a list of games that, for one reason or another, made an impact on me personally.

I started to get a little bored and uninspired about half-way through, so my list starts to get a little strange as it makes its way down.

List items

  • A large part of my RPG gaming experience was with pokemon when KOTOR first came out. The concept that the decisions I made had an actual impact on the outcome of the story blew my mind. I never looked at games the same way again.

  • My first Tim Schafer game, instantly fell in love. Everything about the world they created was so captivating, it was easy to look past its minor flaws.

  • Awesome story, interesting gameplay, great female protagonist.

  • The story wasn't perfect, but it sure made an impact. Spoilers: I was so upset when Roman died, I went back to my last save and replayed over 6 hours of the game to make sure he lived (I really didn't care for the love interest as much as Rockstar intended). I know, it's pathetic.

  • Infinity Ward revolutionized multiplayer. The campaign story kicked ass too. Captain Price, and his facial hair, are awesome.

  • I would go to sleep and dream about this game as a kid. It was a HUGE part of my gaming life.

  • I have yet to play Heavy Rain, but Indigo Prophecy is one of my favorite examples of interactive story telling. I hadn't experienced anything like it before.
