    Polygon Man appeared in commercials and print ads prior to the release of the system in 1995. He was swiftly discontinued during E3 1995 following a negative reaction from former Playstation boss Ken Kutaragi. Since then, Polygon Man's legacy was largely overshadowed by Sony promoting other first and third party characters like Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon.

    He eventually resurfaced in 2012 as the main antagonist of Playstation All-Stars: Battle Royale, but quickly fell back into obscurity again following its mixed reception.
