    ok quick question. if i get this game and play it on the Wii and if i have a gameboy advance game such as fire red and i am playing it on a DS. Can the gameboy-gamecube link cable still be used to transfer my pokemon from fire red????

    No, because the DS does not have the ports for the link cable. I suggest buying a cheap GBA or SP on Ebay.
