Gonna get the combo with the expansion but dunno which one has a better online community since I only play RTS for multiplayer.

I know CoH has a more hardcore fan base online, you will get eaten alive in your first online match no matter how good you are at the single player campaign.

CoH has a very large and active community.  As the poster above me said, don't expect to win very many of your first matches.

Seeing as CoH is a better game both online and off, you should buy it. I also believe that the online community is still active.

i would have said C&C3 myself personally, theres ALWAYS matches going on, all the time, there are a TON! of maps to download and theres new maps every day! i would think CnC would have a more active multiplayer base, but like with all these types of games you are going to run into your hardcore gamers and will be tough for the first several battles to win untill you get the gist of how ppl are playing online.  Online tactics are totally different then singleplayer and skirmishes usually

Well we still have a good community at Supcom and FA which is nice. Also about CoH i have a friend that makes new profiles just for the sake of getting up to the same level in other profiles. Crazy man

CoH kicks CnC3's ass in terms of multiplayer and single player IMO

I think not only is Company of Heroes a better game all around (refreshingly different from a lot of other RTS games), but with the online community features that they implemented in the opposing fronts expansion it seems like it's easier to just jump right into a match (even if you get your head torn off the first time!)
