    Pak E. Derm (Pak Elephant Derm), is a character from the Mario Universe, first appearing in Yoshi's Story. An elephant-like creature, Pak E. Derm has gone on to feature in Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros Brawl.

    Appearance in Yoshi's Story

    Pak Elephant Derm features as an NPC/enemy in the first stage of Yoshi's Story, although he cannot harm the player. Pak holds up a stop sign, which stops Yoshi from passing. The player must ground pound the ground to knock Pak away, then pass quickly before he returns. Pak E. Derm appears three times throughout the first level of the game and does not appear again for the remainder.

    Appearances in Super Smash Bros

    Pak E. Derm appears as a trophy in Super Smash Bros. Melee and also in the background of the Yoshi's Story stage. The trophy description states that there is only one Pak E. Derm and that he's been practising holding the sign for years. Pak also appears as a sticker in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
