Fun Arcade game but missing some elements...

Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2 on the PC version is very sharp and has the best visuals compared to all the other consoles.

Gameplay: Hot Pursuit 2 is an arcade style racing game and I like the amount of detail that is added into the core gameplay, I have played this game on the GameCube, Xbox, PS2 and PC and I find the game better to play on the PC because you can use the Xbox 360 wired controller and the handling is way better than the laggy console versions. The downside of the gameplay is the lack of variety in the tracks, I just find it repetitive to see the same tracks but the only difference is the orientation of the track and most racing games do that and it’s really a drag. I appreciated the way the events are placed; there is many different types of event some are like sprint races from one side of the track to the other side, some are lap knockouts and other races are real long and take roughly 7-10 minutes to finish them. I noticed that there weren’t enough police pursuits and I wished to have more like In Hot Pursuit 2010. The game is solid I’ll be honest but I still think there’s missing a little more for it to be classified a very successful Need For Speed game. The Hot Pursuit series doesn’t include car customisation its stock car racing and most of the cars look great and there’s a lot of great car manufacturers to choose from. The racing done in the game wins you “Bank” and the more you get the more you unlock things. So in all the points won are used to unlock the cars and tracks. I recommend this game for any need for speed fans I do think the game is worth playing but there is obviously elements missing in the game play because once I beat the game and got gold on every event on Hot Pursuit and Championship I felt like the game was a little empty because of the fact that there isn’t enough to offer for the amount of time it takes to beat the game fully.

Graphics: No doubt the PC version is the best for this aspect because I compared the versions with my pc beside the console graphics and there is a huge difference.

Sound: The music is great I love the songs; the down part to me is all cars sound the same when it’s at the point that a Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R has the same sound as a Ferrari 360 Spyder there is definetly a lack of effort put into the game for that.

    3/5
