Return to the roots of arcade NBA basketball in the 2010 installment of NBA Jam. Developed by EA Canada for seventh-generation game consoles, this rebirth brings back the gameplay, aesthetics, and gratuitous secrets of the original 1993 arcade game.
Well, you'd have to take your picture from a few different angles. It could certainly be cool, but it's not going to happen. The more I think about it, the more awesome I think this idea is.
They did it with FIFA 10, I believe, and it worked pretty damn well. Therefore, since the technology for it is already in their hands...why the hell not? It'd be pretty damn awesome!
@jakob187:yeah but they made a 3d face in fifa right?, the characters here are just different pictures of the players/politicians/beastie boys that cycle through and it looks awesome.
Right. NBA Jam wouldn't just map one face picture onto a player model. The game uses a few 2D sprites for the character's faces, so you'd have to take pictures from different angles, which isn't necessarily a problem, and could lead to some hilarious results...
Watching Jeff's QL. The guy was talking about how they did a good job on Paul Gasol's hair. I was thinking, "Dude, you definitely didn't follow the development of the game. The heads are all clipart." The game looks amazing, and I don't see this as too hard to do. It could get pretty messed up, but that's why they throw out the ESRB when you go online. I would like to see a full fledged season mode, with trades too. Hopefully these ideas will be incorporated into the next installment. NBA Jam 2012, maybe?
