Who Needs the Lockout, Its Boom-Shakalaka Time!!! 0

EA's NBA Jam reboot last year was a great return to form for the arcade basketball classic. Even though it was a retail release, this year's On Fire Edition is download only on Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network. NBA Jam being download only is for the best since you're getting a better value for a decent amount of content. Some new gameplay additions and online features are introduced for this year's version, but its still NBA Jam at its core, which what matters importantly at th...

    Its On Fire! 0

NBA Jam On Fire Edition released for download in 2011 by EA is the ultimate edition to the previously released NBA Jam remake. The On Fire edition features better gameplay and a different single player mode.NBA Jam is simply a blast to play. It has always been a tremendously fun and addicting game to play since its hayday in the mid 90's. EA did a great job of keeping the essence of NBA Jam while updating it slightly to bring it into the modern gaming era. The gameplay is really tight and the ga...

    Basketball is forever 0

Note: I don't play online, so that part and "meta" balance isn't covered here.At this point, where I've unlocked everything twice (didn't do cloud saves on 360, oops), went through the single player tour mode as much as possible (more on that later), and spent entire weekends playing with a friend in town visiting, NBA JAM OFE will live on my Xbox hard drive forever, whatever name Microsoft comes up with next. It's essentially the same formula from the good old days. 2-vs-2, shove, swat without r...

NBA Jam: On-Fire Edition review 0

HES ON FIRE!!!NBA Jam: On Fire Edition, is everything you want a NBA Jam game to be. Outlandish dunks, insane Alley-Oops, guys on fire, Big heads and an announcer who never shuts up (for better and for worse). It's basically the perfect NBA Jam game. But it's a bit more than that. Coming from last year's... interesting release of NBA Jam. EA has taken a bit more laid back approached and really focused the ideas in this game. Gone are the boss encounters, and minigames and here a much more focuse...

Hits nostalgia for a moment, fails to stick 0

It's all new rosters, so you'll find your new cheese there. But the unfortunate part of this NBA Jam remake is that three pointers are emphasized (like real life) and the jokey iconoclast teams quickly become the go-to quads. It's fun enough when you're destroying opponents, but the destruction never seems to come right. Pushing folks down isn't as satisfying as a Jam should be, blocks are really oddly timed (somewhere between sim and regular) and it's just not clear when or why your A.I. teamma...
