Eh...I am not interested in the French Revolution...and the WW2 guns aren't even that great anymore, let alone French Revolution weapons. Unless you go back in time with Modern Weapons and fight in the French Revolution, I really don't care much.
It has been announced actually, the article that Jeff posted shows that Activision announced it, and its what they called it. Not sure if it is going to stick to the end but I am sure they would probably keep it that way.

Sweet sweet sweet. I think I'll try and put $60 down for this the day they announce it for 360.
*Puts aside $60 for that day.*
yes. i just cremed my pantys hearing that. i would love to see a call of duty: console warfare. you take control of the xbox 360 and Fuck some shit up with the wii and ps3
"I think I`m the only one who enjoys WW2 shooters still : )"
Meh I loved the WW2 guns, But I would like to point something out. Did it state in that article that Infinity Ward are the ones working on this game?
Besides I'm all for a game set during the French Revolution so long as I get to play as a Brit.
THIS SHIT GONNA BE HOT YO.
This game will be delightfully pleasing.

lmao how pathetic they're trying to reset the cod counter to hide the blatant rehashing and milking XD
anyway... whoop de doo? i will get flamed and -1d for saying this but lets face it cod hasn't changed from call of duty 1 and i would like to point out that that will mean 3 rehashes of call of duty in the space of one halo. cod needs to die. fast.
"lmao how pathetic they're trying to reset the cod counter to hide the blatant rehashing and milking XDI kinda agree, but some of the ideas could stand to live on. Infinity Ward should just get their own shooter franchise, but then when people buy the game, they'll call it a CoD4 ripoff. And if they say, "From the makers of CoD4...." people will wonder why it's not called Call of Duty: _____. That's the only problem, and unless the IW team somehow separates from Activision, they are going to continually get milked by Activision for small differences and more sequels.

I can't think of too many things that could be added to this game....
- New campaign.
- Co-Op campaign?
- Level up higher?
- More perks, challenges and guns?
- Improve the over all game, controls, and whatever.
- Maybe a few new multiplayer modes?
What else though? I can't see much else changing.... But nonetheless, I'm still excited.

yeah they should definately put more game modes in...but i still really care about game campaigns....multiplayer/live doesn't do much for me....

ha yeah that would suck if you got killed at the very end of the game..
or like there you are fighting,,,and then boom...your shot dead while you were reloading away from cover.
I hope they can recapture the feeling that the CoD4 Beta had. For some reason, to this day, most of my friends and I still have the opinion that CoD4's Beta was somehow more fun than the full game ever was. It might have been because the 3 beta maps were the 3 best maps for their class (short, mid, long range) in the entire game, and because it was fresh or new. I'm not sure.
This sucks. Call of Duty was amazing back in 2003, it remains to this day a great war game. Call of Duty: Finest Hour was a pile of console crap, and Call of Duty 2 was just average in my opinion. It really didn't manage to capture the excitement of the series. I replayed Call of Duty so many times and the multiplayer still took skill. Call of Duty 2's single player was boring and the online was crap because all the rifles were an instant one hit, one kill (even in the foot) yet it took like half a clip of a Thompson from ten feet away to kill someone. I never played Call of Duty 3, or Call of Duty 2: Big Red One so I can't comment on those. Then I heard about Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and was ecstatic about it. Sadly I played the game and it sucked hard.
What were once epic firefights with hundreds of people on screen at once were reduced to small firefights with one type of weapon. (M4 Carbine or the AK-47) Then the campaign story was too simplistic and over-done. The length of the campaign was also laughable at five hours and the game never really ended. The ending just popped up out of no where and you learned nothing of the fates of the other characters. Now the multiplayer was even worse. The ability to shoot through walls was so stupid, I can't tell you how many times I died only to watch my kill cam, and see someone headshot me the other side of the map with a freaking round from a M249 S.A.W. after in traveled over a hundred yards and penetrated five brick walls. The spawns where crap, like this one time the match was starting and a guys spawns right behind me....what the hell? I could just stand where I spawned and spun in circles shooting my weapon and probably still get a kill. To add to that the weapons were unbalanced and the game became a frag fest fast thanks to Infinity Ward having us spawn with too many grenades.
Yet everyone praised the game like it was the second coming of Jesus, and I can't see why. Call of Duty was and is better than Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in just about every way. Quality on this once great series has dropped thanks to Activision and poor game decisions from Infinity Ward like regenerating health. It works for Halo and Gears of War where its atleast plausable, yet it feels extremely unrealistic and out of place for a game that is trying to be realistic and really took the skill and tactical element out of the multiplayer. It was so intense in Call of Duty when you got sniped in the chest and lost about 98% of your health and you had to use your smart thinking to get the drop on someone and kill them for health. Having to worry about health also made you less inclined to run out spraying and praying, which in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, you can easily get kills but just spraying and praying, you can't do that in Bad Company, Shadowrun, Rainbow Six, Insurgency, Halo 3, Left for Dead, Counter-Strike or Team Fortess 2.
My point: Activision milking the series and Infinity Ward implementing regenerating health has ruined Call of Duty.

What happens is the follwing: Infinity Ward makes the games good and Activisions copies their games without improving on them.
