Killzone:Liberation is a great tactical 3rd person shooter

Killzone for the PS2 had the potential to be a great 1st person shooter, but was held back by frustrating technical issues. Killzone for the PSP, on the other hand is a great game with no such problems. The general design has changed from 1st to 3rd person, but your still fighting the Helghast and f#cking there sh!t up.
The basic plot is the Helghast are invading southern Vekta under the command of Colonel Cobar and General Metrac. Jan Templar (i.e. you the player) is the one man army the ISA sent in to stop them. You are accompanied on some of the missions by your fellow soldier Rico Velasquez. There's other minor happenings within the story that occur as you play, and you can discover them for yourself. I will say that in the end, you do stop the invasion.FOR NOW !?!?!. But seriously, the overall story isn't anything special, but its something to fill in the gaps between levels.
The gameplay can be summed up as a 3rd person strategic shooter. When you fight the enemy you'll be moving from cover to cover, popping up at the right time to unload on your target (The right time is usually when they're reloading, but this isn't a concrete rule). You'll find that if you just charge head-on at you're enemy everytime, you'll usually die everytime. The Helghast themselves are pretty smart fighters. They'll use cover and pop up to take shots at you too. Be warned, you can also expect them to get up close and personal with you and try to melee you to the ground. You should also know that not all fighters are alike. Some have assualt rifles, some throw grenades, some carry shields and blunt objects to beat you with, and others use a variety of firearms. But relax becuase you'll get to use most of the weapons they use when you find them scattered throughout the game(along with grenades and health) in supply depots. It's also worth noting that there are a couple challenging boss fights too. All these factors add up to a fun and challenging gameplay.
The graphics/audio in Killzone are top notch for a PSP game. Each of the game's four chapters has different locales and scenery, from a war-torn battlefield to a snowy mountian base(All of which are real easy on the eyes). Firefights are great too with bullets wizzing by and the sounds of them hitting and bouncing off different objects. During combat you'll also hear the Helghast yell motivational phrases like "DIE" , "BLEED", or "DIE YOU ISA DOG". In fact one of my favorite parts of the game is when I chuck a grenade at an enemies feet and in that intimidating Helghast voice he'll yell," OH SHIT!" And when the explosion sends the guy flying through the air, you notice the beautiful ragdoll physics.
Now the multiplayer and co-op are great too. The co-op is through ad-hoc and lets you play with a buddy in campaign levels unlocked by the host. The multiplayer lets six players play in campaign levels through ad-hoc as well. Game types include death match, team death match, assualt, and capture the flag.
Killzone: Liberation has great gameplay, great graphics/audio, good multiplayer/co-op, and a somewhat decent story to hold it together.

      Killzone: Liberation Single-Player Review 0

Killzone: Liberation is an angled, overhead shooter from Guerilla Games, and it's their followup to the Killzone, the PS2's purported answer to Halo. With no Halo game to compete with on the PSP, the ambitious team at Guerilla Games turned its sights on showing off the full capabilities of the PSP, and what they came up with is a really good game.In most missions, you'll be taking cover behind crates and popping out to eliminate enemies. If you get caught up in a run and gun situation, bullets m...
