E3 AI always seems dumb. They play on easy.
Killzone 2
Game » consists of 8 releases. Released Feb 27, 2009
Take the fight to the Helghast in this first person shooter from Guerrilla Games.
New Killzone 2 Gameplay
It is, a dev has already said they toned the AI down significantly for the demo, saying they dont want to make life hard for the players lol.
So no worries AI is fine.
it looks pretty good but the gameplay look like it will get boring. They showed 4 guns, 2 of which were automatic guns, a rocker launcher and a pistol. Wouldnt killing people over and over again with an automatic rifle get boring to you guys. I would love to see some more variety in that aspect.
I also hope that they vary the levels a bit more. I know we have only seen 2 levels though.

The weapons will be nice, all of them feel right from what im told, but there won't be great variety, like laser guns and shit. Just the normal, shotgun, sniper, pistol, rocket launcher, rifle, etc. But as long as each feels right and unique im fine. 13 weapons on multiplayer so I am assuming the same can go for SP..

You know what I meant. *sigh*
Like great variety, like the Resistance franchise for example, wont happen.
"You know what I meant. *sigh*Yeah I know, although for some odd reason I imagined lightsabres in Killzone...

Yeah no one should expect real "sci-fi" weapons in Killone 2,even though it is a sci-fi game, they purposely make the weapons feel real, and grounded in reality. So most of the guns feel like stuff you're used to in Cod4. Which honestly makes me happy,I'm kind of done with the whole plasma powered sci fi stuff that looks and feels like a damn childrens toy.
Agreed, but weapons are nothing if they don't feel powerful and sound good. Like CoD4 weapons, most of them were really nailed in terms of how they felt and sounded, and from what I have seen and heard on KZ2 it will be following.

"It better, sheet... It didn't on IGN though LMFAO.Yeah, wasn't it Fallout 3 or something?

Lol, yeah that or Gears 2, don't remember. But it was sad.
Yeah... And they gave best game PS3 to Fallout and best game on 360 to fallout... You can't give multiplatform games best game on both console. It should be first party games.
"Yeah, that's so sad. Gametrailers, and IGN had shitty E3 awards... 1UP had the best.Really, that's odd. Should look into that.

As for how it's looking and level discussion, in the first Killzone there were quite a few environments, from a battlefield, to a jungle, to the snowy mountains, to the beach to a space station :O
ReTarDedFisHy thinks Guerilla has it under control.
But one thing has him concerned. The contrast between the gray/brown environment to the bright orange/red makes the explosion look... cartoony.
Yeah, they need to work on the flames and fire in general. I thought it would have looked better by now.
Yeah... ReTarDedFisHy thought that they'd fix it since the E3 2007 Trailer, but nothing so far. Too much contrast :(:( especially the sky, but ReTarDedFisHy likes the sky. It's just the explosions and fires. Hmm... hopefully they'll fix it, but at the same time, maybe people like that kinda thing...
Haha, no it doesn't. But then you'd have to ask yourself... what the hell does a flaming ship going down look like? :D
"Haha, no it doesn't. But then you'd have to ask yourself... what the hell does a flaming ship going down look like? :D"Like something that looks cooler then that! =P
No but seriously, they can use real planes crashing as reference.
"Like something that looks cooler then that! =PHaha, OK then. I'll send them an e-mail, and considering they're crazy budget I'm pretty sure they can make that happen.

On the whole weapons thing, I loved all the guns from the original Killzone, very realistic. Same with the atmosphere. So damn smokey you could choke. Loved the ambient sounds. Hated friendly AI. Loved enemy AI. Hated most areas, only liked the jungle and first level :S
Simple MP, didn't play it that much, but I liked it.
With the footage it looks like they'll be keeping that "real sense of war" feel.

Yeah but all those enviornments were because it was on planet Vekta, ie Earth. This is on Helghan, so you won't see no jungles here lol.

"Yeah. The trail of flaming smoke from when the ship goes down doesn't look that good.

From the 07 trailer? Yeah dude things like that have been revamped, a lot of the stuff you see now isn't even the up-to-date builds... And the game is still half a year away too. XD
"Equilibria said:Are you sure about online co-op play? I haven't heard any official word on this as of yet. And I can vouch for your statement that only two levels have been shown. In the order of the game they are levels 2 and 3. Also, expect the color palette to really broaden with future game play footage releases."Sentry said:"Trust me, the main part of Killzone 2 won't even be the SP, even though its good and nice, with co-op and all, the MP will be a huge hit"I don’t think that co-op is in the game from day one of release. However GG might add online co-op, split screen co-op? vehicles or new multiplayer maps as downloadable content. "
Online co-op, yes, split screen? No.
And people bitching; we have only seen the 2 levels so far, the second one, and one later in the game. NOTHING to judge. Plus its always looking better and getting better, so no worries.

Yes I am positive. I have actually known about it before KZ2 was even shown again (before E3 07), it was going to be 6-5 player online co-op (no split-screen, its impossible to render two parts of the world with those graphics simultaneously), but now they moved it down to 4 since the squads are of 4. It has also been slightly confirmed, not only with them sayni "we are big fans of co-op" but Sony's, I forgot his name but he is a fat dude, who said 'more info on co-op and multiplayer coming later down the line', so yes.
