Jeff's Kane and Lynch 2 review is up as we all know with a fair score considering what the game offers, or more so what the game doesn't offer...
Knowing how insanely short its single player, where does this place you all on getting K&L2? Still a full price purchase? Will buy eventually? Or just completely ignore? I'm still getting it full price myself - since I preordered it and it's on its way I have little choice anyway - but I have confidence that the SP will be fun enough to warranty at least another playthrough. The multiplayer, as expected, is the drawing point and that still looks to deliver on what I was hoping for.
Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days
Game » consists of 10 releases. Released Aug 17, 2010
Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days makes a notable switch of the titular duo, with James Lynch now taking up the role as lead protagonist over Kane. However the two are still once again forced to endure a hail of gunfire as they find themselves embroiled in Shanghai's criminal underworld.
The Verdict is out! So...who's going to get it?
Just completely ignore because I don't really buy console games for multiplayer as I am a TF2 addict.
EDIT: Didn't know this had a PC version. Still not getting it because story based shooters don't interest me in the slightest.
Already paid for my pre-order. Picking it up later today. I don't care what Jeff says, I really enjoyed the first one and plan to enjoy this one too. 3/5 may be a fair score considering it's length, but if the game was a bit longer, I no doubt it would have got a 4/5. Game length is no problem for me since I like to play games multiple times, and the multiplayer is pretty neat.

The game itself is well made with a number of great twists to have it stand out. The length is all that really pulls it down from a four star rating =(
If it's a five hour campaign and solid multiplayer, that's at least 10 hours of solid content. I've payed full price for shorter, singleplayer-only games before. I just want to experience the game, you know?
I'll get it when it's on sale for $30 or less on the PC. 3/5 from Jeff is about the best I think anyone could have realistically hoped for and it means a lot to me but not enough to blow $50. There's just too many other games out and coming out like Mafia 2 next week.
This will be part of a clean up run for me around Christmas time I'm sure. The price will drop fast.
That really sucks. Why the hell would a developer spend 2 years writing 5 hours worth of content for the single player, and only giving 6 maps? That's retarded.
It's a fully paid-for preorder for me at Gamestop, but I'm thinking I might just roll it over into another game. I don't know if I want to deal with the Xbox issues (that's the version I got), and 4 hours is not much time to play, considering Mafia II is coming out next week. I may just get it, play it this week, and put the trade money towards Mafia.

"Under most circumstances I would agree, but I live in Canada where EBGames/Gamestop has year long trade-promotions. I don't know if they have it in America, but in Canada, we have a "trade 3 get it free" or "trade 2 + 10$" for new release games, so I traded in old games for K&L2. I wouldn't pay 60$, but hell yeah I'd get rid of old turds in my closet and get it for 10$. And as I said, I really liked the first game, but then again I played it on PC so I guess YMMV on the quality.
I was really, really considering it but four hours and a minor distraction in the multiplayer is not enough to buy the game at full price. It will be £10-15 in no time, I will get it then.
Keep in mind that difficulty may alter game length, and from my understanding, Jeff played through the game multiple times. Perhaps he meant one of his later playthroughs was 4 hours.
Eh i was so hyped up for this. but the SP is soooo short. I dont even know anymore. :( Ill buy it next month.
" I'll buy it, game length is not really important I mean almost everyone here has played Modernwarfare 2 right? Very awesome campaign but very short as well. "People could easily argue for its expansive multiplayer, though. MW2's campaign is short but it still has plenty more overall value than K&L2.
This time around i only buy games i can play multiple times. In other words; sandbox games, RPG's and adventure games. If i'm getting a straight forward game like this, it has to be good. To me, it seems like this is an OK game, i guess, but i'm an offline type of guy, and it seems this game is more focused on the multiplayer aspect. I'm still waiting for Mafia 2, Fable III and Fallout new vegas.
" @Eric5676 said:Not a bad plan. $10 out of your pocket thanks to turd trade ins? Sure, go for it." I won't get it at launch, that's for sure. Maybe when it drops in price and becomes really cheap, as I loved the demo.
Even though the SP is really short, I really liked the MP in the demo and I could see myself playing it a lot despite the repetition. So its a purchase for me.
Will have to be a rental or buy when on sale as I enjoyed the demo effects thoroughly and always thought Kane and Lynch were the coolest and "real" new characters this generation. The short length is the deal breaker.
played the demo on PS3 the graphical features are neat and the game itself is interesting for about 1 hour until I got tired of the constant swearing. For some reason also the online wouldn't work for me. I got into one match got d/c and couldn't get past the match making screen after that.
This game will be $20 by the end of Novermber, and even then I will not purchase it.
I might rent it though.
