Overview
The Jogcon was designed to combine the functionality of a real steering wheel with the size of a standard PlayStation DualShock Controller. This is accomplished by a small wheel device located at the center of the peripheral.
Originally released in 1998 as part of a special edition package with Namco's Ridge Racer Type 4 game, it was unique in that it provided accurate force feedback with every torque steer and collision that occurred in the game.
The Jogcon would later be sold separately from the Ridge Racer game.
Naming
The name was derived from the actions of 'jogging' a dial on a VCR.
