Since the original xbox live servers went down i was wondering if anyone has noticed an increase in the player count as a result of people migrating to it from xbox?

Unless there is something I don't know, why would you say Vista as opposed to just Windows in general?

It doesn't run on XP. When it came out, only Vista was available, and only Vista could run it. It naturally follows that it is informally named "Halo 2 Vista."

No, it's Vista and above, it was released around the time Vista first launched and they were trying to push the OS.

@kishan6: It's not being stubborn, you're just being asinine. There's a reason there are no games listed as "Halo 2 for Windows Vista" in the GB database. The game is Halo 2, for the Windows platform. Whatever they stuck on the front of the box for advertising doesn't mean half a damn.

There are user created hacks to make it run on XP but officially the game supports Vista and up. That's like saying that Super Metroid is also a Mac OS X game because it can run in an emulator unofficially.

@nicklott: There's a distinct difference between emulation and disabling an unnecessary draconian lock on a game.

@Mmmslash:  I'm only referring to what the game officially supports by the publisher because the conversation was turning to semantics. While the San Andreas hot coffee feature was TECHNICALLY in the game, OFFICIALLY it is not and is only accessible through 3rd party modification, like Halo 2 on XP.

@nicklott:  My issue is that Windows Vista is not a platform. It's a sub-architecture of an overall platform, and asking if there are players migrating to that specifically is a little... odd.

@Mmmslash:  I'm not disagreeing with you that it's pointless to divide. I was just trying to clarify the official platform so hopefully someone could answer Kishan's question.
