GH: Metallica was also a pretty good one, even though I don't care for Metallica that much. You can tell some amount of love and care actually went into it. Out of all the single band themed games, Metallica and The Beatles are the only good ones.

I guess people who'd play these games opted to go ahead and learn the real thing!

Was simply a case of over saturation, but I can see why they did it there was a risk of the rhythm game being a fad not unlike dancepads so Activision bombarded us with Guitar hero for a few years, when the only addition was new tracks people were bound to get bored. I think you're right though, we haven't seen the end of guitar hero, but I can see it coming back very different.

I think we're going to see this in the future with many of the fads that exploded a couple of years ago.  Whether they're dead-ends creatively or developers aren't willing to expand on a new idea, the mainstream audience is a fickle beast, and it takes a lot of effort to keep them from moving on to the next new shiny thing.

Spam bots are just straight up necroing old threads now?
