Hey guys,
I thought id start this out by asking the best question for anyone who owns guitar hero 3.
Have you guys beaten through the fire and flames? if so on what difficulty and how much
did you have to practice.. yeah.
Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock
Game » consists of 15 releases. Released Oct 28, 2007
The fourth installment of the series (Guitar Hero: Rock the 80's being the 3rd) that single handedly revitalized the music-game genre, Guitar Hero III retains the core gameplay of its predecessors while delivering a more challenging experience.
Have you beaten "Through the fire and Flames"?
Yea I've beaten it on expert, it took me a long time to finally get past the intro and once i did I passed the rest pretty easily, 4*ed it too doubt I'll ever get the 5*
The intro is easily the hardest part of the song... the solos are ridiculous too but at that point I would be all the way in the green and probably have star power so it would be easy to pass, not keep a multiplier though
Just beat it on expert a couple days ago. I probably spent a couple months practicing the intro, but I'd spend about 20 minutes on it once every couple weeks or so. I didn't get a 4* but I'll at least be able to get that. There's no way I'll ever 5* the song, unless I somehow get much much better.
On Expert, I have gotten 98% through it. (I know, I lost on "You Rock!"...I forgot to practice tapping the end. >_<) Since then, I've been going down at 83%-ish. I should take some time to get a little more consistent, but when I got the game in March, I never would have even imagined being able to do the intro. I'm rather proud of myself. :P
Edit! Beat it last night. ^_^

I was originally practicing it but I'm not sure I want to commit to it and end up hating the song because of it.

Are you kidding! That song's a cakewalk! I got 100% on my first try!
I mean, I'm a total rock star baby. Nothing can stop me...
...on easy difficulty. :|
beat it on expert 96% ,if the guitars were actually a big more truely accurate I could get 100% no doubt, since I can do that on a real guitar >.<
i'll never get any better than that on it though,i don't own the game, played it at a friends before, asked me to help him try to get through it.
beat it on hard, expert just takes the piss. The problem with Guitar Hero 3 is that they add in two guitar parts at one time, which is why its typically so damn hard, also you can't do what the guitarist that play the songs do (I forget the name of the actual technique but essentially the solos are arpeggios played really really fucking quickly using a slightly different strumming technique) and to master that would make me forget how to play the actual guitar properly.
I beat it on Hard (easy), EX (cake), Medium (er... kinda tricky) and Easy (HOLY WHAT IS THIS CRAP 1000 NOTES ZOMG)
:P
"Hey guys,On Medium, yes. On expert? No way. I have a friend who's friend has beaten it on expert. I don't believe it, but he says he was there when it happened. Don't ask me for a link, because he didn't record it. I'm skeptical of it too.

I'd rather stick my fingers in a blender than try to beat that song on Hard or Expert. I managed to beat it on Easy and Medium--barely.
I tried it some obscene amount of times, before I finally beat it on Expert.
There's one patch in the solo where you need to activate star power at exactly the right moment so it carries you through the crazy part but doesn't overwrite the next phrase. It's really tricky, and I haven't replicated it since.
I really hope they use the Rock Band earn-while-you-burn thing in World Tour, so I never have to worry about that again.

The band can't manage this song very well live (much less anything else that they do).

On medium, I never even thought for a seccond I should waste valuable hours practicing on hard untill I could get it.
i finally got consistent on this song so now I can pass it without star power almost every time. Can't strum atall though so still stuck on 430k... and I don't like that song atall so I'm not going to practice it. It's kindof fun though, mostly because it's really tough. Once in a while I go back to GH3 to play devil went down to georgia and this just so my hand starts to move as fast as it can (don't know why it helps.... but it does. I always use it to get up to speed after not playing for a while).
